When the new (third) terminal goes in, capacity will be 22 Million per year. Boarding bridges will increase to 32. Construction to start this December.

But this is only stopgap measure. Eventually this new terminal will also be turned into domestic and regional terminal for local subcontinental (also Kunming) flights when a separate larger airport the size of Incheon will be built (North of Dhaka) within the next decade and a half for truly International flights exceeding seven to eight hour duration.

The present 60's era T1 and T2 will then be converted to cargo terminals .

I have spoken to CAAB folks and this is the plan.
