Qajars were an Azerbaijani dynasty which ruled Iran until 1925, which really isn't even a century ago. But let's also take a look at their military.

Some history lesson for Persians here, it was not even a century ago...

"The majority of infantry troops were of Turkish-speaking origin, with 26 regiments of Azeris from Azerbaijan and 16 regiments of Turkish-speaking recruits drafted in other provinces. Kurds and Lurs provided 8, and Persians the remaining 30 regiments (Picot, p. 112)."

Encyclopædia Iranica | Articles

Keep in mind that Persians had a much larger population, yet Azeri Turks dominated the military. Also, Azeris lived in other provinces aswell, so those 16 Turkic-speaking regiments from other provinces surely included Azeris (probably even most of them).

That statistics (from official documents) does not include artillery and cavalry, which were mainly made up of Azeris, if not exclusively

"Azerbaijan was the historical recruiting ground for the artillery"

Qajar basic military terms was in Azerbaijani language. Tufgenchi = Musketeer, Topchu = Artillerymen.

I would not even talk about Safavid era...Azerbaijani language was sole military language of Safavid Empire, so go figure.

. .
What is Azerbaijani? When was this slogan used first time?

Now it is known as such so I will not complicate things for others. I m aware that "Azeri" or "Azerbaijani" terms are new ones (introduced in 1936).

I hope some of our Persian friends here understand the point.

. .
Why is that? The source itself is Iranian, and these are pure statistics...

Here is statistics for you instead of pure trolling by Persians.

First line of the article referenced by your link:

Āḏarī (Ar. al-āḏarīya) was the Iranian language of Azerbaijan before the spread of the Turkish language, commonly called Azeri, in the region.

Enough said...

"Qajars were an Azerbaijani dynasty which ruled Iran until 1925, which really isn't even a century ago."

And now they're extinct, that was fast!

What's the point of this thread btw? And you're a few trillion brain cells short of a full set it seems. Azaris speak Azari, Persians speak Persian and Kurds speak Kurdish. You're giving these facts as if they were unknown to people before lmao

Azerbaijan was the name of an Iranian province for thousands of years. The name of Azerbaijan derives from Atropates an Iranian satrap of Media under the Achaemenid empire.

Of course they are. Azerbaijan is an Iranian entity. Only half of it was separated from Iran by Russia. The other half of Azerbaijan is still in Iran.

LOL, what has that to do with Azeri Turk domination of Iran for centuries?

Azeri Turks can even be aliens, that's not the point...

So who belongs to who?

Qajar was an Iranian dynasty that briefly ruled Iran after the Zand and Afshar dynasty. Their capital was Tehran.

He wants to prove that Azerbaijan existed even then. But the truth is Azerbaijan as a country is a new one created only in 1990. Before that it was either ruled by Iran for thousands of years or for a brief period by Russians.

.
Is this Khazar?

Khazar lived untill 10 th century. Jew ones you mentioned. Then they disaapeared. Or what.

Qajars are Qizilbash tribesmen who ruled between 18th and early 20th centuries in Iran.

Do not be desperate. You will join Iran some day. Already there is a big opposition to Alieyev in Azerbaijan and people are rising up against him.
