Ethnic Hatred: Eight Punjabi Laborers Killed in Balochistan
Quetta- At least eight migrant workers were gunned down by unidentified killers in district Lasbela of Balochistan today, Pakistan Tribune reported. The slayed workers were missing along with three others since Saturday. Local security officials have confirmed the incident.
The victims were inhabitants of Muzaffargarh, Multan, Bahawalpur and other towns of Punjab.
According to sources in local police department, a group of armed men broke into Ali Poultry Farm in the Abbas Goth area of Lasbela district and abducted nine laborers employed there. Gunmen took the abductees to nearby mountainous area and opened fire on them after checking their identity cards.
“The bodies of eight laborers were found dumped in a mountainous area while one laborer was found injured,” a police officer said.
Police shifted dead bodies and injured shifted to Jam Ghulam Qadir Hospital for autopsy. No one has claimed responsibility for this heinous crime.
Balochistan government spokesperson Jan Buldedi condemned the killings.
“Law enforcing agencies should ensure the culprits involved in this heinous crime are arrested on an immediate basis,” Buledi said.
Baloch separatists have killed several settlers from other provinces as part of their campaign against the state in the past.
