Turkey can play a key role in the Modern Silk Road

the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor)

Consider all the work going into the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, Turkey should use its influence among the ruling class in Turkmenistan to allow a corridor between Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, if/when some kind of stability comes to south and western Afghanistan.

Trans-shipment by Rail could open up more business opportunities for all involved and be a way to fill up the trains at a cheaper per unit price. It may also allow those usually less than full trains to China to off load supplies for shipment onto Pakistan, such as machinery, transport goods, and chemicals.

This route, based on the map, would be the quickest way for Central Asian States to not only reach Europe, but with a link through Afghanistan, reach Gwadar.

Turkish mining companies, if successful in negotiations with nations of the region, use the route to ship raw or processed minerals from Central Asia, Afghanistan, and Pakistan to markets in Europe, or via the same route down to Gwadar or Karachi for quicker shipment the other way.

If the US mends fences with Turkey, western companies might be interested down the line in investing in mining ventures along the route, especially because it would be a route that is Non-Russian and Non-Iranian and only slightly Chinese (if the Gwadar port is used, so they could send shipments onto to Karachi instead to avoid Chinese involvement)

While Afghanistan is not a stable country at the moment, if it does form an internationally recognized government which controls the corridor from Turkmenistan to Pakistan, via Herat and Kandahar, it could earn a decent amount from Transit trade. Beyond shipping European products such as chemicals, machinery, and transport goods, this corridor could open up places for Turkish firms to invest in mining and processing raw materials for further value added production in Turkey, and final sale in Europe.

Turkish investment in a gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to Pakistan could also help build Turkish influence in these countries.

I cant disagree. If Pakistan has lost too much in past 17 years due to corruption and terrorism, Turkey had lost too much in the period when secularists ruled the country for 7 decades.
