during the recent knife attack, the recording by a member of public captured someone saying to the attacker "you aint no Muslim Bruv"... now this phrase has gone viral and shows how the Muslim majority thinks and says.

I think, there is a serious failure of Pakistani policy here. Funds for terrorism arises from the ME. Yet, you get blamed as the centre of terrorism. The only way to solve this, would be to have a policy of self preservation over a policy of Saudi preservation. The problem is how to disassociate from the Saudis. What if there were controls brought in place from the centre? A reverse Zia. All funds to organisations involved in education should be routed only through the central government. Anybody teaching has to be approved by the central government.

The only problem for the above is how to ensure, the Middle Eastern patrons of these organisations are kept under control. Pakistan will also need to foster closer ties with Iran for energy security. If the Saudis and Qataris do not have control over your energy security, half the problem is solved.

On a completely different note, it is high time Mecca and Medina are brought under the control of an organisation which has no link to any single country, but is run by the funds donated by countries globally.

How stupid are Muslims here to start being apologetic and in essence give in to the notion that Saudi Arabia is root of all problems around world and we should invite attack against it? Obviously Muslims aren't stupid, the ones in favor of this are Shia. If Shia Muslims assist any aggressors in targeting the birthplace of Islam we will never forget it and officially declare them outside the religion. Shia's and others have interest in destroying Saudi Arabia is they believe the institution of Islam will break down after that and so they can replace the world with Zoroastrianism and Secularism.

The people of Saudi Arabia are not the target, but the culprit is the ideology of Salafism and its subset Wahhabism. Saudi Royal family has been in bed with this devil for 250 years. Shia's have their own problems, but it is up to them to clean their own house. Increasingly as a Sunni Muslim from Hanafi background, I am veering towards a point of view that Salafi's in general have taken a detour and are outside of the 4 Madhab's of Sunni Islam. They have opened a pandora's box and a result of this is the current chaos where Salafi extremists are prone to violence, intolerance and hatred of anything and anyone who do not follow their narrow ideology. If you are really concerned about the global Ummah of 1.4-1.5 billion Sunni Muslims, then you should understand this matter well and then spread the word among friends and family. Ignorance is our biggest enemy.

There are active terrorists and there are active supporters and sympathizers and people who simply look the other way. There are people who don't support their actions directly, but will be defensive because of common interests.

Not everybody has to be a gun-totting radical. But, all of them are detrimental to global peace, nonetheless.
