Ensure national flag is hoisted at madrasas on Aug 15, Jan 26: HC tells UP govt

India is a theocracy. Slowly but surely, fake mask of Secularism is coming off.
In my opinion, this decision is an example of "Judicial dictatorship"
If the madrasas are hoisting Pakistani flags, then this decision might make sense but how can you force a private entity to hoist the flag?
It is not a private entity if it is funded by the govt.

.
Please note I am NOT supporting madarsas. I dont want the children to study in them. But the unfortunate reality is that these places exist.

If we dont want them to churn out the next Kasabs we should do some things. A small thing like clebrating independence day and republic day will be a small step to make them part of nation loving people.

I am not saying that it will ensure this but atleast it will be a step in the positive direction

I disagree. You are not attacking the ant hill. But poking it with a stick and building a smoky fire on top of it.

I have given up on comprehension skills of pakistanis.

The article clearly says govt assisted schools. Govt has every right to make them do it, as it a stated goal of our education system to instill love and respect for our country and our national symbols.

If that makes us a theocracy, then I suggest you work on your vocabulary too while you work on your comprehension.

The Allahabad High Court on Tuesday directed the Uttar Pradesh government to ensure that the national flag is hoisted at madrasas across the state on Independence Day and Republic Day.

Then it should be mentioned in court decision, that only those madrasa taking government grants should be covered under this court order.

The order is issued to the state of UP, hence across the state (as opposed to a city, district etc). You mean the court will not say where the order applies? Add selective reading to the list. Get cracking now.

Indian constitution give certain rights to its citizen which everybody speaks for but no one speaks about certain responsibility or duties of citizen towards constitution of India and one of the duties is to pay due respect to Indian flag and Indian Anthem.
If any person (irrespective of their cast, creed, religion) cannot perform his or her duties they are not Indian citizen and should not stay here.

Madrasas throwing open doors to non-muslim students
Madrasas in West Bengal are increasingly opening their doors to non-Muslim students, with one of them making it to the merit list of the West Bengal Board of Madrasa Education (WBBME) recently.

“Not only has the number of non-Muslim candidates appearing in the examination increased this year, but Brajeshawar Maji, a non-Muslim student from Khalatpur High Madrasa in the State's Howrah district also made it to the merit list,” Ghiyasuddin Siddique, president of the board, told The Hindu on Friday.

He said the candidate scored approximately 80 percent marks, and ranked 97th in the merit list.

Officials of the WBBME said the number of non-Muslim students who appeared for the board examination this year doubled, compared to last year. Approximately 1590 such examinees — which is more than four per cent of the total number of candidates — appeared in the board examinations held in February this year, they said.

Interestingly, the number of non-Muslim girls who took the examination is higher than boys. While 723 non-Muslim boys appeared in the examination, the number of girl candidates was 867.

Nurul Islam, the headmaster of Khalatpur High Madrasa, whose non-Muslim student has made it to the board's merit list, says Hindu students comprise 15 per cent of the entire student strength in his madrasa.

“We have seen instances where Hindu students leave schools and join our madrasa,” Mr. Islam said.

He explained madrasas in the State don't limit the curriculum only to subjects like Arabic and Islamic Studies, but give equal emphasis to science, mathematics, and languages, including English.

“Of the 600 madrasas in the State, only 100 are Senior Madrasas which exclusively teach theology. The remaining are High Madrasas where all subjects, including theology, are taught,” Mr. Islam said.

It was the High Madrasas which were attracting students from non-Muslim communities, he said.

Officials of the WBBME claimed that in the past few years, some High Madrasas in the State had more non-Muslim students on their rolls, compared to Muslim students.

Anwar Hussain, headmaster of the Orgram Chatuspalli High Madrasa in the State's Bardhaman district which had 61 per cent non-Muslim students, said this year a Hindu student from his madrasa scored the highest marks in the board examinations.

“Prince Halder, a Hindu student, scored the highest marks in our madrasa. He scored well in Islamic studies, and got the highest marks in Arabic,” Mr. Hussain said.

In Pakistan, there is a department by the name "Auqaaf". Some mosques/madrasa/seminaries are controlled by them, hence come under government control. The other madrasas (majority) are under various religious parties and trusts or private. They run on charity, donations from general public or some are funded by Saudi/Iranian funding (these are the main source of militancy)
I am just trying to say, that this statement should clarify its scope of judgement.
The plea said to apply it on government funded madrasas, while judgment has make it applicable across all state. So all madrasas are government funded in UP?
