What's new

Enjoy & Share Your ''Türkiye'' !

Turkish Republic is Secular nation. We don't care other people's beliefs or religions, we don't care what other people do as long as they act in the limits of the laws since we are a Law State.

People are free to go to mosque, or Church and do their pray. People are free to wear mini skirt or hijab. People are free to cover their hairs or not cover at all. People can drink tequila, vodka, beer, or can decide not to drink alcohole at all.

We are just free.

That's quiet a statement.. There's no need to reinforce what we already know OguzSenturk lol...

If you ask me Istanbul is generally better than Paris, London and Berlin having visited all 4. Even the metro stations are extremely clean for a city that big, police/security forces are very respected it seems. In Western Europe, (Amsterdam where I live) they are seen as the enemy even by native locals.

Might not be the same in other parts of Turkey but haven't seen that yet.

Istanbul is really great especially the historic quarters. It is well maintained and looked after, from every pavement to rock.

The only thing that lets Istanbul down is the other shanty housing in other parts. The country was mismanaged for decades which saw a rise in unplanned city development. Things are changing now with birth of Urban Renewal Projects but it's going to take decades to sort the current mess out. By 2050 Istanbul will be complete different city that is sure to surpass other European cities in every aspect

Yes Istanbul is something different but it still has a long way to go, it needs a way better infrastructure and city planning compared to the said cities.
