England Cancels Pakistan's Cricket Tour Due to Security Concerns

.
And since those tours Afghanistan fell apart. Tensions with Iran. Tensions with India (Butt hurt because of Afghan) This opens up the possibility of threats from any one of those nations looking to make Pakistan look bad.

As for Pakistani intelligence missing things well that would another thread.

They were literally going to the stadium they would play the game at for days. Were these threats from Afghanistan, Iran, India sipping tea during that time?

Same "intelligence" that told them the Afghan government would survive for months after US withdrawal. Not collapse days before US withdrawal. The same "5 Eyes" intel network, that vaporized 7 children and 3 adults (all innocents) in the middle of Kabul. And one "foreign" funded unsuccessful attack over a decade ago remains that casus belli for them.

There is literally a Maulana flying Taliban flags at a nearby mosque and getting into stand offs with police a KM away. I would rather the games get cancelled than something bad happen and Pakistan have another stain to its reputation.

If dozens of bomb blasts, some 85000 deaths of it's citizens and billions lost in economy couldn't buckle Pakistan, do these idiots think that cancelling a few cricket matches will put any pressure on us.
History is witness that after any test and trial, Pakistan has emerged even stronger.

Pakistan should boycott cricket. ICC will come begging once Pakistan does this. There are very few good cricket team left and when Pakistan out from this cricket waste time will come ppl will loose interest in cricket.

We can have local cricket, there is not much difference in terms of quality in international cricket and our local cricket.

Is the cancelation of the tour not a stain on Pakistan's reputation? Imran Khan phoned the NZ PM and assured her of the security of players and yet they chose to pull out minutes before.
The other problem is Pakistan cricket is already on its last legs and this tour will cost millions, cancel future tours resulting in loss of millions, and set a precedent that anyone can cancel at any time in Pakistan effectively resulting in the end of cricketing tours in Pakistan. When you can't see cricket in person the sport will die.

Last time I went to Karachi My hotel had machine gun posts at the entrance. That does not inspire confidence.

I'd be more worried if they weren't machine gun posts. Why take international cricket players to the most dangerous city in Pakistan anyway, send them to sheltered bubbles like Lahore and Islamabad, perhaps even up north if there's stadiums there.

A cancellation is a whole lot different to something like a team bus getting attacked.

After US 15 Aug epic humiliation, it was expected.

It's more than that, in the US the biggest complaint was about the Taliban forming the government on Sept 11.
That was an unnecessary poke and so they decided to poke back but this poke actually costs Pakistan $$.

.
P.s. this is above Indian pay scale ...let's not drag into them ...its US behind all this via UK govt
No. No it isn't. There is no Cricket diplomacy. the US and UK have other methods of causing problems they don't need cricket.

Talibans Govt officials took oath on sept 12.

You are naive. Its all part of bigger strategy which is to isolate Pakistan. US foreign secretary already said it recently that they are reviewing their ties with Pakistan. Fatf is a clear example. Stopping cricket in Pakistan will also stop international investors to visit Pakistan and invest.
