They've put up a boundary wall and put in a whole bunch of patchy grass, which is very water intensive to maintain properly, in a city that is already struggling with a water shortage.

Sorry, I don't see the benefit here other than some aesthetic improvement.

The majority of the open space should have been used for planting indigenous tree species that provide shade etc. Change the grounds into a more multipurpose area like a mini park with winding paths, benches under trees etc that could be used by local residents.

yeah i agree we need more and more trees and this place should be full of trees and if there is grass under the trees it will be great .
