When will the humans learn to behave and live peacefully on the planet? :undecided::undecided:

.
When will these idiots ever learn that wild animals are not be caged, abused and then used for your pleasure, regardless of what event it is.
No sympathy for the so called trainer at all.

They're not caged or abused. This state has secular "elephant love" animal rights groups that won't forgive such acts and sometimes go crazier than peta. It's the state animal of Kerala.
We are now more and more careful to cool them and feed them during festivals. Only thing I don't like is banging drums near them, but they're very used to that as well.

Then why does this happen you ask?
Here:
Musth or must /ˈmʌst/ is a periodic condition in bull (male) elephants, characterized by highly aggressive behavior and accompanied by a large rise in reproductive hormones.

The government should form a comittee which should do analysis on the selected elephants if they are or shortly will be in mast.

Although the video is very old but this is recurring phenomenon.

The elephant is a very sensitive social animal and the pain they go through during capture process haunts them and they dont forget due to exceptional memory.

This is part of a bigger human animal conflict going on.

But amazingly India and africa are the last refuge for wildlife still.

@SOUTHie you mallu boy

Its mostly in your region. Whats the legal proceeding if Ganesh is found guilty of murder?

@NoOne'sBoy you lankan.

How do you deal with it in lanka?

It should be noted that the use of elephants has less (or nothing) to do with Ganeshan and more to do with their majesty. Sort of like a vestige of their use in battles.
Zero references are made to Ganeshan.

The Ganesh festival in Maharashtra on the other hand doesn't use elephants at all. Taming and training them isn't a thing there.

:DSirji it's an elephant. Not a god. Unless you want to trigger someone.

And yeah, it's true. Elephants are put on display and I have seen it happen, but what can I say? You can't put an elephant on trial but you can arrest them humans for negligence. Don't know what happened after.

When they just want a li'l check up, they go to the hospital like everyone else.. :tongue:

Kerala to have country’s first elephant hospital

IANSTHRISSUR 07 JUNE 2015 16:39 IST
UPDATED: 07 JUNE 2015 19:02 IST

India’s first exclusive hospital for elephants will come up in Kerala.

Noted elephant veterinarian Dr. Jacob Cheeran said: “The hospital will have an in-patient treatment facility for 10 elephants at a time. Besides, the state-of-the-art laboratory facilities would be there.”

Dr. Cheeran said the in-patient facility was important as majority of 500 captive elephants in Kerala were over 50 years-old and would require augmented healthcare support.

The hospital will be set up on a five-acre plot in the Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Mannuthy. It is expected to cost Rs.10 crore.

“The contribution and the role of various agencies will be identified and then the Centre will be doing the needful,” added Dr. Cheeran.
