Bro,
In India your benefits and other rights generally don't vary by religion. They vary mostly by region i.e, in paper they all have same rights, but in some regions due to the incompetant governing the scene may change.
Indian muslims generally have a good life in India.

you hop? india is giving more priority to muslims in education (especially girls). 8% reservation for muslim student for getting job or getting admission in colleges or highersecondary schools. india is giving much priority for the minority in india.

Well its good..but why are Muslims behind other communities?

In education, in Army, in jobs, in services sector, in government etc..Muslims are starkly under-represented..In Pakistan, this fact drives the perception that Indian Muslims are discriminated by the society and face institutional discrimination in India...And massive armies of internet hindus blatantly abusing Islam/Muslims and hating on them also doesn't prove helpful for the situation..

Muslims should ask themselves why of all the minorities in India they are the most backward,

Because they are the least educated.

They send their kids to madrassas instead of schools. As mentioned by another poster, the Muslims of India must ask this question of themselves, why is it that they are the last compared to all the other minorities of India.

Shouldn't indian government, along with Indian religious and political Muslim leaders, start a campaign to spread awareness among indian Muslims about education? Are there any programs to educate Muslims? Like in U.S, NPR provide educational programs in remote areas of the U.S..

btw, when is the final report on latest indian census coming out? I want to know the exact stats about how many Muslims are there in India..what is their literacy rate..what is their per capita income etc etc..

Census is carried out once every 10 years. The last census was in 2011. So, the next will be in 2021.

The number of Muslims in India - Indian Muslim Population Data

Sachar Committee report findings:
The presence of Muslims has been found to be only 3% in the IAS, 1.8% in the IFS and 4% in the IPS. Muslim community has a representation of only 4.5% in Indian Railways while 98.7% of them are positioned at lower levels. Representation of Muslims is very low in the Universities and in Banks. Their share in police constables is only 6%, in health 4.4%, in transport 6.5%. Gujarat had a better share of Muslims in government jobs (5.4%) than compared to states like West Bengal (2.1%) and New Delhi (3.2%).

In private industry like the BPO industry, Muslims have been able to do well and find employment in large numbers.

For more information go here. This is the Sachar Committee report. Sachar Committee Report - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The awareness part has already started. There have been programs launched. The wiki link will have basic information on the programs launched, but they are not Muslim specific.

There are no special programs to educate Muslims. I dont think that would be allowed by the Parliament - to have religion specific educational promotion.

Indian Muslims are practically the most backward in terms of education. The question is why are they like this? Why are they the only ones who have low education, when Christians, Jains, Parsis, Sikhs all have education levels above the majority Hindus.

The Muslim leaders of India are the biggest culprits in this. They themselves dont want the Muslims to be educated. If the Muslims become educated, the Muslim leaders will lose their votebank. Its easy to get an uneducated, madrassa studied Muslim to start jumping the streets burning tyres over something in Kashmir or 'Islam khatray main hai' bull$hit. To make them vote for specific people who project themselves as saviours.

Its not easy to do that with an educated Muslim who wants jobs, security, prosperity like the rest of Indians. So the Muslim leaders work doubly hard to ensure that the Muslim masses remain ignorant and uneducated.

Census report 2011 is not out yet. No idea when it will come out.
