Eid gift: India to set free 31 Pak prisoners

India on Thursday decided to release 31 Pakistani nationals from its jails on September 15 — as External Affairs Minister S M Krishna conveyed Eid greetings to his Pakistan counterpart Shah Mahmoud Qureishi.

The decision came a day after three prominent Pakistan citizens, including the head of India-Pakistan judicial committee on prisoners Justice (retired) Nasir Aslam Zahid, met Krishna, Home Minister P Chidambaram and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi and appealed them for the release of 71 Pak nationals.

In a letter to his Pakistani counterpart on Thursday, Krishna conveyed New Delhi’s decision to “repatriate seven Pakistani fishermen and 24 civilian prisoners on September 15, 2010”.

Why are we about these goodwill measures taken by the two governments? If we can't say good about each other, then at least don't
