What's new

Egypt has shut down 64 media outlets and has sold two islands to Saudi Arabia.

His emergence to power was certainly a military coup. Democracy in the region will never be voluntarily tolerated by certain powers abroad. Dictators are far easier to deal with (Hint: fill their foreign bank accounts with cash and they ahem the country will become your ally).

Did you watch the vid? I personally didn't know that Nassar talked about the two islands which will be transferred to Saudi Arabia. According to him, those islands belong to Egypt. Very interesting. @EgyptianAmerican

A good step by the Egyptian government...media crack down is necessary when the media start to work against the govt. Such type of crackdown also need in Pakistan which are engaged in propagation against the present govt. There are number of Channels which work as per special agenda to malign the govt or to make failure the govt. Such channels get the benefit using label of media when the voice or any action is taken against them they use the media that it is being suppressed. It is always blamed the govt for banning the liberty of media...
There are large number of fake Pakistanis media or overseas Pakistanis especially US based traitor who are Pakistanis but US born.

They are paid by CIA to spread mis info, bad mouth on great project like CPEC for progression of Pakistan economy. Pakistan government shall take hard stance against these foreign agent social media and Facebook.

Egypt has up till Sisi consistently argued that the islands are Egyptian.

(in 1954) "Egypt informed the UN Security Council that the two islands had been Egyptian territory since the delimitation of the frontier between Egypt and the Ottoman Empire in 1906."
International Boundaries Research Unit MARITIME BRIEFING, Volume 3 Number 2

Saudi money is however seemingly changing this opinion in Cairo, although the Egyptian populace will understandably be furious. Essentially their government is selling Egyptian land away.

Egypt has shut down 64 media outlets and has sold two islands to Saudi Arabia. But many Egyptians are not happy about it.

Is Sisi's Egypt becoming more unstable?
Egypt's government has shut down 64 media outlets and its parliament approved a controversial deal to sell two islands to Saudi Arabia, despite a public outcry.

lol The hypocrisy here is beautiful!

This is a list of media outlets that were shut down in the course of the 2016 Turkish purges.

On 27 July 2016, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan shut down 16 television channels, 23 radio stations, 45 daily newspapers, 15 magazines and 29 publishing houses in another emergency decree under the newly adopted emergency legislation.

Let's see your reaction!

When Saudi lost these island to Egypt?

"Under the new agreement, Egypt formally recognized the Red Sea islands of Tiran and Sanafir, at the southern entrance to the Gulf of Aqaba, as belonging to Saudi Arabia. In 1950 during the reign of King Farouk, custody of the islands had been transferred to Egypt at the request of Saudi King Abdul-Aziz Al Saud because Saudi Arabia lacked a naval force to protect the islands against possible Israeli expansion following the 1948 war in Palestine."

Well, if that's the only background , then Egypt should return it. But, I like to listen something Egyptian members too. What they say. @EgyptianAmerican

This is natural in a state under a mafia boss.

Sisi, however disagrees.
Egypt's president allegedly mocks Gulf wealth

"When his office director responds with laughter, El Sisi says "So what? They have money like rice." In other words - they're rolling in cash." suggesting that Egyptians should have a share of that money " like the Americans.
____
"Most of the alleged insulting language was attributed to Kamil, who branded the Gulf countries as "half-states", who should "pay up" because they "are living a fancy life and have piles of money"."

"The leaks were reportedly recorded early 2014. The voices in the recordings were of Sisi, who was then defence minister; Brigadier General Abbas Kamil, the manager of Sisi's office; and Mahmoud Higazi, who was then head of intelligence and now head of the army."

There's hardly any difference between this thug and a mafia boss.

As the history says both islands belong to saudi Arabia but temporary arranges were made keeping Egyptian control due to lacking of Saudi in Naval force. It is appreciable decision by the Egyptian government to return the islands. In this way this goes a good message to both countries as well as to the all ummate e musalimah.

It has nothing to do with the subject.
12 days before there was a coup attempt and you're comparing apples to pears.
Do you know this guy?

There are millions of Pakistanis getting paid by Arabs. However money is not like rice, because unlike Iran $ is only airlifted there.

You obnoxious and obsessive little cunt. No one was talking about Iran in this thread, and no Iranian member posted either (until me, as a response to your post)
Get your head out of Saudi buthole.
