The Egyptians people(regardless to what i think or believe) don't want Egypt to deal with Israel as long as they continue to occupy Palestinian lands. It hard for people to accept you, and deal with you naturally with you not showing any signs of committing to peace and threatening to attack neighbour countries all the time. Egyptian will survive, especially since Israel didn't pay that much money for the gas anyway.

agentny17 : Hello, my Egyptian brother. Earlier you said that Mubarak wasn't a client or a traitor. My friend, he's the biggest traitor in history. We really got nothing back from the gas treaty unlike what you think. We were ruled by him for 30 years, 30 years with no wars! Imagine if someone good had ruled as at that time, we could really have become a strong country, at least a strong economy.
Mubarak gave us Egypt a wreckage of a country, if we want to make our economy better we have to follow in the Brazilian route, hard rough economical austerity.

A report says Egypt is cancelling the 2005 deal with the Tel Aviv regime on sales of natural gas to Israel.
