EDITOR QUITS, COLUMNISTS DROPPED: PAKISTAN ARMY ‘HAS CHOKED ALL DISSENT’

So you are calling pakistan an uncivilised nation? Who gave you the right to pass such a judgement? Do people in china decide the mandate? Are they uncivilised as well? We are a democracy although we have had problems with it in the past we are still growing. Dont forget its only been about 70 years since we became independent and did not inherit a functioning democratic system unlike india. If our army chief is a messiah to us then its our matter you or in that case any foreigner has no right to pass judgement on that!

you inherited the same system as India in 1947

Was the government in delhi or karachi? Half of our country were princely states. We just had one proper assembly that was in sindh. The punjab was divided. Our region was amongst the most backward and underdeveloped in whole of india.

Its bad for Pakistan nascent democracy.

It seems Military Chief hero-worship is being portrayed rather than actual people volunteering
unfortunately it is not democracy but Dakucracy.

I haven't read Talpur much, but Taqi was not by any means a 'constructive criticism' type of columnist.

Mohammed Taqi was just pure, irrational, anti-military tirades. An excellent example of which is his last column, where he bashes the Army for 'not preventing the Taliban and associated groups from escaping into Afghanistan'.

By doing so he accepts the fact (which he long denied) that Zarb-e-Azb pushed the operational foundations of the Haqqanis and Afghan Taliban into Afghanistan and displays a complete lack of understanding of the challenges involved in any military doing what he's demanding.

The kind of irrational tirades he published provided Pakistan nothing.

india had 600 princely states to incorporate. Most of the modern Indian states did not even exist. India's diversity is an order of magnitude larger. pakistan punjab had one of the better irrigation systems in 1947

While there may be some truth to it, leave it to Indian newspapers to exaggerate it against Pakistan.

Well Said. However, you statement will still hold if you Interchange India and Pakistan.
IMHO, One must not specifically mention the beaviours, which are NOT a patent belonging to any ONE SIDE.
