Well these are only DAC clearances and far away from any signed contract, but at least for the Avro replacement that's a good step, seems like Parrikar has understood that these aircrafts are important. Other than that, we already have the MTA development for the medium class.
How gracious of you to issue a "certificate" to Parrikar ...... he must be so thrilled. PDF self styled "expert" sharing his condescending grants to the Defence Minister.
Any defence procurement is demanding at least 30% offsets to be diverted to India, that's the policy that was implemented by the former government. Nowadays that's just called Make in India, as a general term for anything that gives back some production to India (offsets, assembly or licence production lines included). So no matter if it's 145 or just 45 howitzers, there must be offsets diverted back to India, but the smaller the deal and the more difficult the ToT relation with the vendor country, the less important things we get in return. In this case, we hardly get the assembly of the gun that will be produced in the US, to it's platform, that could be produced in India.
Pretty shameless of you to peddle LIES AGAIN. How far will you let you anti-Hindutva bias cloud your judgement ?
During the period 1993-2004, European countries were able to obtain offsets valued at 99.1 percent of their defence imports however your precious congress govt did nothing of that sort.
The earlier NDA govt. of Vajpayee in 2002-3 devise a policy for offsets that was designed to help India become a defence exporter. The RFI for MMRCA which went out in 2004 asked for significant offset. Offset finally became part of DPP in 2005.
NOW that we know the truth, let us know how you came to the conclusion that the M-777 will not be produced in India. Not now and not in the future. All reports say that BAe has promised to build them in India.
Now BAE was planing to shut down its production system in England and has promised to shift its entire production facility to India if it got the Indian deal.
