Economy to grow 7.25 per cent.

At this point of time any government that walks out of Kashmir issue is going to shoot itself in the foot. People are going to hang them. Well its not just what we want. We hold 1/3 Kashmir and India wants that and Gilgit Baltistan.
This Kashmir euphoria has been created in Pakistan since partition in 1947 by the military establishment with active cooperation from the civilian politicians. But, Kashmir issue is eating away the economic potential because billions of dollar worth of money is being funneled to the Military, which otherwise could have been spent to improve the quality of living. In every country throughout the ages its military wants tension and war so that it can collect booty from the tax imposed on the poor.

It is time Pakistan wakes up to the reality that it alone has no capability to keep on fighting without a time limit. Not all dreams come true. It should come out of the vicious cycle and hypes created by the military generals that help only their interests. In BD everything from A -Z has to be in Dhaka. Maybe that is why it is so congested? Whats the level of development in Chittagong or the rest of cities?. I always felt like Dhaka as getting all the burden . You should have a planned capital similar to ours.
Part of the answer is,unlike Pakistan, Bangladesh is not a federal state but unitary one.You have 7 govt. One central and others are provincial,so power and responsibility is distributed among 7 govt. But in BD, only one govt. in Dhaka. So all administrative power and responsibility is concentrated in Dhaka only. But still Chittagong is a city of 6.5 million and Sylhet, Khulna, Rajshahi each contain more than a million residents.

Another aspect is, BD started urbanising a lot letter than Pakistan.Currently Urbanization rate in BD is 34 percent vs. 39 percent in Pakistan. But in 1960, only 5 percent people could be called urban in BD or East pakistan, while West Pakistan was already 22 percent urban. So urbanization in BD is much more recent and disorganized.

The lowest Poverty rate is in the district of Kushtia Though, only 3%

I wouldn't comment on what another country should or shouldn't do without even seeing it for myself. If they're still sleeping and pouring money to keep the military behemoth as powerful as possible against every other institution, that's their call. As a country of the same boat we should focus on our own and learn from others' mistakes.

Yes I also want Bangladeshis to grow :) They are some four feet tall now, maybe grow by some few inches next year:lol:
Do not please derail this thread. Punjabis are the tallest in the sub-continent. Bangladesh people are certainly the 2nd tallest at 169 cm. in average. All Indians combined are shorter than our people in average.

What's the point talking about height? I'm pretty short myself. I don't like when someone mocks others for height.

Avg. height of populations go up as nutrition levels and healthcare standards increase.

Avg. height of Chinese Japanese and Koreans have gone up 2 to 3 inches in the last two decades.

And this is avg. height. I see six feet tall Japanese and Koreans in my travels all the time nowadays. Nutrition has gone up in those countries, especially Korea.
