Economic Bloodbath on a Colossal Scale?

.
Sure and yes wait till this turn ends to have clear picture.

Yes, patience is the correct thing here, but something that is often in short supply in Pakistan, generally. :D

shokat tareen is going to meet IMF in america to resume IMF plan and for that purpose they are again imposing taxes prior meeting with iMF , already IMF has Veto Kamyab Jawan Programe and any resumption of IMF program mean reduction in development programs, govt clearly failed to control the imports and last month import pushed them toward IMF, their all projections prove wrong as overseas remittances was their hope which are also sliding down slowly while FBR is another pain, very sad situation of economy and in near future not expecting any good news ... just more taxes are on their way and no development atleast until PTI is in power as IMF program will continue another two years... it is expected rupee will devalue more due to regional and local situation ... so some hard days right ahead

The person who kick-started de-regulation in the region (yes Pakistan did it first & India followed suit) does not know spelling of economics? This is beyond funny. How come his governments had better policies that delivered results, the last government being a good example of the same? Not only did Pakistan finance a war, secure borders, bring down tensions on the border, but attracted investments, low-cost loans, & steadily growing tax receipts & GDP growth? Its all verifiable information & I need not make up figures out of thin air like PTI fan-boys do.

When you come back with "kurrupshion, chor, debt, CAD...." etc... do know that these things are worse in the last 3 years. So you might wanna think before you post.

Growth that left Pakistan almost bankrupt in 2018 with CAD of $20b which was like 8% of GDP and no reserves left. Instead of doing something for exporters, they encouraged importers.

Yeah we should belive this guy who ran away by lying in court about his health what about the mindset for such ppl who support nawaz?

Just because I repeatedly share my opinion that PTI Government has been worst in the history, it does not mean that I am handing out Medals to PML or PPP or the Army Governments. Why do you PTI supporters automatically assume that those condemning the PTI disaster that has struck Pakistan must be doing so because of support for some other party.

Even if all above is true, what mattered in the end was he left Pakistan on the verge of declaring bankruptcy and CAD of around USD 18 billion with barely 1 month of import cover.

So that 'growth' led to a massive adjustment later on and average Pakistani paid the price for it. This govt. will be a bigger culprit if once again they let CAD balloon to the same level.

So I am keeping my fingers crossed and hope for Pakistan's sake that we do not repeat the same mistake for 3rd time in last 15 years.
I disagree, but will not be explaining why. PDF is not a place for me to expend my energy trying to explain hows & whys & what-ifs. I would just say that while there was some delay in devaluing PKR by about 6 months, there were some significant reasons why Pakistan's economy went off-track, that had nothing to do with PML-N's program & actual performance. It became a zero-sum game in 2017, unfortunately.

Since you do not want to get into the reasons, I will not debate any further.

However, you point above is factually incorrect as the architect of that crises Mr. Dar did not agree then and does not agree now. If he had his way, he would have made sure that policy stayed the same while we announced bankruptcy. He is on record saying we should not have devalued rupee and continued to support it by spending borrowed dollars.

So, I do not agree. Let's leave it at that.

OK.

One can not take political rhetoric at face value. PML-N did start devaluation, just a bit late. So, Dar has not basis on which to make such statements if he indeed did so. Devaluation would have been more gradual, had it begun by 2nd/3rd Q 2016 instead of 2017.

Anyways, that was not really the important point.

Also, I thank you for not indulging in abuse, which is pretty standard fare when it comes to most PTI supporters.
