I think this played a minor part.
The main reasons that China has ad such a low fatality rate is as below:
1. It's demographics has relatively fewer elderly people than in Western developed countries.
2. It obesity levels and underlying health conditions are lower than in Western developed countries.
3. A much quicker and stricter lockdown was implemented.
