'Dubai-like' city to be developed near Lahore

There is no land left in Lahore district to make a mini city there. Only option is to convert Ravi river into canal and use its land like what they did in London area of Canary Wharf.

That's their plan, the ravi will look beautiful, we have a canal alreasy and a river flowing through would be the cherry on the cake

It's gone red with pollution, the 1 billion rs water treatment plant will help a lot. The future looks bright for lahore, Islamabad and gwadar..

New cities are needed, but why near lahore? The problem is people would just live there and come to work in lahore. This might not solve the congestion problem.

Why not make a city from ground up in central punjab. May be Jauharabad could be built again. It was once selected as capital of Pakistan.

New cities with major private companies must be built all over the country.

Islamabad was built near rawalpindi for business attraction, if you build a city in the middle of a desert, who'll live there? The only experienced working people are located in and around metropolitan cities, therefore, lahore is a good choice

Good point but the rise of Dubai was due to oil and they leveraged that to create everything they have so they can continue to run now that it’s mostly gone

You keep the big cities intact by creating planned new cities.
Not by expanding the already built cities. We destroyed our environment and cities by unplanned and criminal expansion.
Also we need agri industry and food processing so village people have jobs there and may not migrate!

No more spending money in or near Lahore. Enough is enough. As a Bangladeshi, I can tell you all this money being spent in Lahore will hurt your national integrity. This will fuel fire in Baluchistan. Try to have half a brain people, blindly making the same mistakes of the past is downright stupid.
