DRDO parachute to drop heavy combat vehicles from IL-76

Just a stupid question - but hey... I AM A CIVILIAN ... not a military vet.

Question - if you have BMPs dropped from aircraft in a battle situation or even in mock exercises, are drivers / soldiers inside or are they dropped separately and when on ground they take possession of the air dropped vehicles?

One more question - usually personnel who are dropped with such armor would be landing at varied distances and then making their way to their dropped vehicles. In a war-game / war-like scenario, how does this work (varied distance separation of equipment & personnel (let's call it VDSEP for short) in a hot zone where you might be under fire ?

The very nature of a transport a/c speeding a long at high speed means that a slight space in jumps equates to distance between landings. So equipment and men are dropped at pre-set intervals- usually no more than a few seconds a part.
