DRDO claim on LCA export premature: Former top IAF officers

.
New Delhi: DRDO's claim about being in a position to export Light Combat Aircraft Tejas has been dismissed as premature and unrealistic by former top IAF officers who want it to focus on getting the indigenous fighter plane inducted into own air force first.

"It is good to have ambitions but there are several miles to go before we can talk or think about exporting LCA.

"It is too early to talk about this as it has to be fist inducted into IAF before we take a decision on selling these planes," former IAF chief Air Chief Marshal S Krishnaswamy said.

He was reacting to DRDO's claim that it can sell light-weight multirole LCA to friendly foreign countries in future.

Krishnaswamy said DRDO and the country will have to be "realistic" as for exporting the aircraft. The country will have to make huge investments to create a new and big production line for mass production of these aircraft, he said.

The development of the home-grown fighter aircraft, which recently got 'Initial Operational Clearance' by IAF, has already taken 30 years at an estimated cost of over Rs 17,000 crore.

However, the induction is still awaited as IAF has not yet given the 'Final Operation Clearance'.

Production of the aircraft is estimated to push up the cost further.

Krishnaswamy said when it comes to exporting combat aircraft or helicopters, the seller has to provide long-term fleet support to the customer countries and "DRDO has no exposure to such fleet management practices".

"We had exported some choppers to a country and one of them crashed during the national day parade of that particular nation.

"So, we should first focus on developing the aircraft for our own requirements and then think of other things," he said.

Krishnaswamy said the first indigenously built bomber HF-24 Marut aircraft had to go through several modifications due to problems experienced in it even several years after it was inducted in IAF.

gud......i hope after this humiliation DRDO will learn to stop running its mouths,,,,,,

No, over-all range.

He didn't give me combat radius as of yet. I want him to "give" tejas' combat radius. When he'll give me the combat radius---then I'll show him how JF-17 is superior to Tejas even in combat radius.

You know what? I already went over all of this with senior indian member (Sancho--who is a professional)...So I already know the scope of JF-17 Thunder's superiority over poor Tejas.

:)

LOLLLLL

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Hey man, now you are giving me copy-paste bs from wikipedia? Please stop.

Don't quote me again.

(I have Tejas specification chart from "official" builder of the Tejas saved in my computer. So I don't need wiki. The chart itself was given to me by one of the most senior/well-informed professional Indian member here )

:agree:

LCA can take you to Mars and back in 2 days.

Stop trolling. You guys can use JF 17 to explore mars.We have SLVs to do that.

sharp finishing making it sleek, That design is armed with sophisticated avionics, long-range radar, and 21st century data-link and weapon systems.

Explain more about bold part & how LCA lacks these.

.
In avionics,airframe,radar ? No.

Why are you guys jumping like little girls?

I am going in step-by-step manner..so I can teach a newcomer some technical stuff. If you stop quoting me, and let him write, then we might get this through in a hurry.

I am still waiting for combat radius number.

Thanks.

Answer post #37.

I won't.

We haven't come to avionics, and that stuff.

Uptil now, I have proven (by Indians' owns statistics given to me) that

1- JF-17 Thunder has more range (over-all range).
2- JF-17 has superior service ceiling and can fly much higher than Tejas (a critical advantage in air wars).

Now, logically, the third step is to discuss "combat radius"...and I have asked him for combat radius of Tejas (with official source..no blogs/wikipedia bullshit). Let him give combat radius and we'll compare. And then move on to next step.

If we randomly start comparing two aircrafts, everything will get fucked up. Hence I am going in step by step manner.

Hopefully you understand now

:agree:
Wiki have References given below with Every specs, they very Reliable that why Most Internet Experts use in Forum's
Eg combat Radius of jf-17 with Refueling and Lca 300Km the reference given to combat radius is from IHS jane's with refueling Agree or not Agree choice is yours
Weapons load Lca is much high as of jf-17

1- JF-17 Thunder has more range (over-all range).
2- JF-17 has superior service ceiling and can fly much higher than Tejas (a critical advantage in air wars).
More weapons load
Better avionics

Hey kid, who told you JF-17 has no MAWS?

See, you are typical indian. Talking out of your asssss

Please give me the combat radius of Tejas and we'll continue..step by step.

PAC website.

Avionics Suite

jf-17-4.jpg
The avionics suite makes the JF-17 an effective weapon platform. The glass cockpit and hands on throttle and stick (HOTAS) controls reduce pilot workload. Accurate navigation and weapon aiming information on the head up display help the pilot achieve his mission effectively. The multifunction displays provide information on engine, fuel, hydraulics, electrical, flight control and environmental control system on a need-to-know basis along with basic flight and tactical information. The capability has been built around highly modern state-of-the-art avionics equipment. The salient avionics equipment is as follows:

  • Dual redundant mission computers
  • Dual redundant 1553 Mux bus architecture
  • Multi-mode Pulse Doppler Radar capable of tracking multiple targets with prioritized firing
  • Ring laser gyro inertial navigation system tied with GPS
  • Smart head up display with up front control panel. SHUD total field of view is 25 Degrees
  • Color video recording camera and video recorder (for SMFCDs)
  • HOTAS
  • Three smart multi function color displays
  • Air Data Computer
  • Radar Altimeter
  • IFF Interrogator/Transponder
  • Air Combat Manoeuvring Instrumentation (ACMI)
  • BVR/Communication Data link
  • hVHF / UHF Communication System
No MAWS, no RWR bloody defenceless.

BTW Combat radius is given in the chart and also on website

First you tell me combat radius of JF-17 is with Mid air refueling or Not If yes Lca still not reached the Stage of air refueling It will be in FOC Clearence

Their(IAF officers) a**es are burning on hearing the truth.........which they have rejected intentionally so far to fill their own pockets through foreign deals..........
WTF are you talking about, kid? Don't spew nonsense out here.
