DPRK cancels talks with South Korea and warns US

To hold a military drill close on the date of the upcoming meeting shows exactly that US never wanted peace in the first place, look at Iran :D

Bullshit. These US-ROK exercises are held as per a fixed schedule; North Korea knew well in advance that such exercises were going to occur as planned and that it had a chance to protest such maneuvers prior to the peace summit.

In advance? Supposedly rescheduling the drill is not an option? Gosh grow up kid

. . .
Absolutely, in advance. US & ROK forces have annual military exercises (Foal Eagle & others) and North Korea is certainly no stranger to them.

In fact, such exercises have been predicted & planned before Kim entertained the idea of negotiating for "peace": https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...-exercises-to-resume-next-month-idUSKBN1GW067

Yes the source mentioned this part also:
Pyongyang has not confirmed the exchange and threatened earlier this month to take “counteraction” if the United States and South Korea went ahead with the exercises.

The DPRK had a full month (and then some) to go ahead with its threat of "counteraction". The fact that it did not and maintained a willingness to pursue peace in the meantime goes to show that the regime is not exactly serious in its efforts to achieve a peaceful resolution.

Yeah and US is serious about it like canceling the Iranian deal.

.
It was my understanding that Kim agreed to have these talks while still knowing that there still might be some exercises going on throughout the negotiations.
Yes,but still, its a remarkable lack of tact on trumps part especially after just publicly withdrawing from the jcpoa, one would have thought he would have had enough sense to at least postpone the damn exercise for 5 weeks, altho its not like I had any realistic expectations of any nuclear deal with the dprk anyway,at least not the sort of deal trump and co think they`re going to get.

That's not the point. The fact remains that North Korea knew about the exercises, did not bother protesting them while it pursued "peace" talks, and then reneged on those peace talks on the basis of those exercises, which makes their intention to pursue "peace" questionable at the very best.

LOL keep bringing up the excuses.

DPRK threatened to take action, which was stated in that article. And right know it's taking action.

So now what? Back to square one?

The most blatant excuse in this case is North Korea's pursuit of a so-called peace deal. In reality it's more likely a ploy to buy them time.
