What's new

Doval of India, master strategist

Afghan situation was always contingent on there being US support and was always entirely beyond Mr Doval or the Indian state to do anything.

Let's see how they play time around, the Talibs. There doesn't seem to be much resistance to the takeover apart from reports of trouble brewing in panjshir valley, which won't have much effect on the bigger game.

Total chaos there now in the aftermath of the full US withdrawal. Rogue commanders, local turf battles between tribes and warlords, the imposition of an ISIS style living for people, the narco trade will flourish, a refugee/migrant exodus... not sure what Pakistanis are so happy about when it comes to a neighbouring country disintegrate ?

Still crying and mourning I see.

Haha man your wet dreams are never coming true. For 20 years you guys sat in Kabul with virtually everything in your favor yet you ran like cowards at the first sign of trouble. We all know 10 Afghans who made it to Kashmir made life hell for your security forces. No wonder that you have to keep 800,000 LEAs personnel to handle 200 odd militant in Kashmir.
Where is that SOB Hindutva bastard, who wanted to fight Pak till the Last Afgan, now???

Killing innocent kids and women is one thing, and liberating Kabul is another thing....
He ran away like a coward and he is good at running, be at Doklam, Ladakh or Kabul.

What wet dreams, I have no desire to see instability anywhere in the region, or the world as a whole.

When not trolling, I try and engage objectively. Here about Afghanistan, it is certainly not from within the already debilitating confines of an aggressive Indian nationalist frame, and much less from a hardliner Hindutva frame.

You come across as one of those individuals who can be engaged constructively in discussion, which is superior as opposed to debate, where the whole sport is to wrestle it out with the other from an already biased frame. Right ?

What exactly are you lot so exited about ? We'd have to see a significant year on year report for a few years running to objectively establish a correlation and to conclude therefore, that the US withdrawal bought peace and security of Pakistan in terms of lessened or khallas'ed terror attacks.

For now, the risk of rogue commanders, warlords, no direct chain of command etc... how can you engage with them and expect agreements to hold up ? Rogue commanders with sympathies toward the TTP for example, or warlords more faithful to the dollars than to the almighty ? Are they really that virtuous ? What kind of victory is this anyway ? Who won ??

So 10,000 Afghan Taliban members are more than capable 800,000 indian soldiers?........:o::o::o:........no wonder they were able to kick out the americans + 43 nations of NATO.

From Pakistan's perspective, we don't want Afghanistan to be used against Pakistan even if that means Talibans take over all of Afghanistan. From the very start, Afghans have created all kind of problems in Pakistan and Pakistan only had to react to protect geographical boundaries of Pakistan.
Since 1979, India has been engaged in Afghanistan to revive the agenda of Durand line to destabilize Pakistan and it became worse after Yanks landed in Kabul. The celebrations you see here are for the eviction of spoilers (Indians and NDS) and not necessarily for the Taliban take over. You would wind various Pakistani posters who are not cheering the taliban as some Islamic force but as a counterweight to people who butchered our kids in APS.
Leaving aside the jabs we take here and some trolling with Indians, Pakistan's official position is very clear i.e. we want a political setup in Afghanistan and want Taliban to care for human rights in Afghanistan (Check Gen Bajwa's statement today).
Lastly, no one is fair in geopolitical game be it Pakistan, US, China or India for national interests would trump any noble idea whatsoever.

Taliban are battle hardened militants and retired Indian generals and their writers are not wrong when they worry that Taliban can make things bad in Kashmir. There used be a taliban commander in Kashmir who lived there for 10 years and made life of Indian security forces hell. Imagine if 100 make it to Kashmir, it would be painful.

Doval had good 15 years he played a good game and i would say we defended well given the circumstances but now times have changed its our turn to be aggressive and eliminate Indian network out of Pak and Afg!

if we still act pussy we will pay a huge price for our complacency!

if bajway cant do that replace him!

Agree, payback time now. Indians lost a base in order to subvert Balochistan and KP.

We now have time, resources and energy to focus on Punjab and Kashmir.....
