As you said, India doesn't have much in Afghanistan other than infrastructure development projects and the road towards Central Asia from Chabahar.

India is more concerned with the destabilized situation due to the Taliban being in power and their tolerance for allowing extremist groups. As you may be aware that a large number of terrorists belonging to IS, TTP, Al-qaeda etc (intentionally and unintentionally) were released recently by the taliban. Such terrorists could make their way across the borders and harm the fragile peace in J&K.

As far as India is concerned, the Taliban have made all the right statements saying they won’t interfere in Kashmir but over time, if things don’t work out in their favour, they might change their messaging or communication style which could turn anti-India and could also drive separatist groups in J&K.

So it is a great matter of concern to India. Last thing we need is a Syria, Iraq type situation in the neighborhood.
