Chinese police usually don't carry guns, unlike US police shooting minorities for fun. Gates are symbols of ownership and authority in China, Tiananmen is a gate, Most Beijing's main locations were named after gates, please don't try so hard to show your ignorance about China here.

We don't have police at airport gantries. Only at the main terminal entrance where they have the scanners and check your bags. You seem to need lots of security in China.
