Donald Trump says he could shoot someone on a busy street and not lose voters

His fan following shows to which extent the intellectual rot has widened in USA.

Speaking of intellect...So what is Pakistan's literacy rate ?

Believe it or not, he is right. He says this with full conviction and he knows it. All this guy needed to say is that he will ban Muslims from entering the US. He has garnered full sympathy from a certain section of the American population. Not all Americans are islamophobic, but many are. Trump has played this to his advantage. He has tapped into the existing hate. Nothing that he says or does will outrage this particular section of the population anymore. Trump is the messiah and savior of certain white Americans who believe it is time to undo Obama's 8 years of rule.

I predict that Trump will win the upcoming general elections. Some may argue that this is impossible, but Trump has already enough supporters and will get many more throughout his campaign. He will continue to tap into the hate and fuel more negativity. His message is resonating with many Americans. Particularly the extremist right wing elements. Many Americans are angry and feel humiliated under Obama. Anti-Islam feelings are at an alarming level. Many Americans don't want immigrants in their country.

I think what you say is true but not the whole truth (not wantonly, just there are additional pieces).

The hatred is not limited to muslim; it is for anything other than christian. There are is a sizable bunch of white americans who in their hearts of hearts believe that the country that 'they' founded is being taken over by non christians. Ofcourse muslims come in for more specific hatred fear and loathing due to the terrorist association.

A second factor I think is that politicians over the past several decades have evolved a way of speaking that makes one instantly distrust them. This is something all of us have felt. especially in the past 20+ years, the only way politicians have won is by telling the people how miserable the other guy has made them - but they talk in a way that is very circumspect. Trump does not speak like the politicians they are used to.

Finally, Trump does not need money. His supporters know for a fact that while every other politician will need to compromise for money, Trump doesn't have to.

The religious hatred, and the money angle are dangerous.

His fan following shows to which extent the intellectual rot has widened in USA.

frankly, look at the alternatives! Sanders is a crackpot, Clinton is a crook, nobody knows the Maloney guy; on the republican side Cruz seems full of secrets, Jeb doesn't event want to use his last name, rubio speaks smart but looks way too young, Christie and Kasich just haven't been popular outside their home turfs....In the normal course Rubio, Kasich and Christie would have become much better known around the country but Trump has sucked in all the publicity and so they remain behind.

Let's hope somebody more sensible jumps into the race. They will need deep pockets since they don't have time to collect / raise funds. And they must have good name recognition already. Bloomberg?

Speaking of intellect...So what is Pakistan's literacy rate ?

Surely an irked Trump voter.

Pakistan's literacy rate is enough for the Americans to keep bribing this country for their own gains.

Don't be so angry. Let's wait and see the outcome of the elections. We are just a little curious how a hater like Trump can be so likable in a place like the US. It is strange that a guy can stand up and make hate remarks against women, Mexicans, Muslims etc. and still be so popular and high in the polls. Each time there is a controversy and Trump is the wrongdoer he seems to get higher poll numbers. That is all.

I won't delve much into the white America phenomena, but the US has a history in that regard. The Muslims are constantly being singled out though. Trump specifically targets the Muslims if he wants to score points with his racist voters and stir controversy.

Perhaps they are tired of traditional politicians, but backing a guy who says things like Mexicans are rapists and Muslims won't be allowed to enter the US isn't helpful either. This is guy is an obvious danger to any society. He says ridiculous things and seems to only win more souls. People are justified when they ask who these obviously hateful people are who are backing a man like Trump. It is worrisome because the US won't make any friends with such a president I can assure you.

For some reason I'm beginning to like Trump.

About time a real nutjob acquired the highest US office.

Obviously said in jest but he's great, Trump will be great for the world and spl the middle east. I think he'll be able to resolve Syria by working with Putin and by stopping all support to the rebel terrorist jihadis.

And than they say Muslims are fundamentalist.

That says more about Pakistan than about US.

Not angry at all. Just amused that someone who knows nothing about US politics would base his arguments on polls and more likely he knows equally nothing about polls.

US politics at every level is more complex than what most foreigners are used to, especially if they came from countries where the political process is OVERTLY violent and corrupt. US politics is complex because anyone can run for any office at any level, so not just in theory but in reality, a homeless person can run for President if he want to. The problem that most foreigners have is that it is the burden of the candidate to convince the people to vote for him. Am willing to guess that you belongs to that group -- those who cannot fathom the idea of persuasion.

Anyway...The polls that Trump are high are not representative of the US but among those on the 'conservative' or Republican side, that means when your poll population is DELIBERATELY narrow, it is easy for the extremes to stand clear.

Finally...Just to preempt the criticism that the US have just two political parties, there are no laws that prevent the existence of any political party. The Communist Party of US (CPUSA) is still going and they can field their own Presidential candidate if they want. Again, the issue is of persuasion.

For some reason I'm beginning to like Trump.

You mean you want US to be like other countries that has real nutjobs in their highest offices ?

It doesn't, I'm afraid. You cannot deny that your country has a fetish in interfering in the internal matters of other countries including Pakistan. Obviously, many Americans abhor and dislike Pakistan. Your tone and attitude is a clear testimony of this fact. Yet, your country keeps supporting Pakistan through economic and military aid. That is highly conflicting and inconsistent with the thoughts many Americans and the US government hold regarding Pakistan. Make up your mind and stop the policy of duplicity.

This is another problem with many Americans. They are arrogant and think they have all the answers. You have your insightful answers and accusations all set regarding Pakistan. You act like you are a professor on Pakistan related matters because you like to lecture the inhabitants of this country on their challenges and problems. Yet, when others confront you with the problems and politics of your own country you accuse them of being ignorant. You want to have it both ways, but you can't.

It is both very funny and ironic that an American talks about other societies being violent and corrupt. I'm not even going to delve into US foreign occupations and the violent mess it has created for the rest of the world. A colossal conundrum in itself. Just look at the rampant gun violence in the US. How easily people gain access to a gun and massacre people in churches, cinema's, on the street and elsewhere. Isn't this the very definition of a violent stricken society? Now, please don't lecture me on how little I know about America and its complexities.

As for corruption, don't tell us that the US has no corruption. Corruption exists everywhere and even more so in the US due to its size and wealth. In some countries corruption is more openly practiced and visible than others. Although, you cannot claim that your country is corruption free. As a matter of fact, US corporations and banks have demonstrated how much of a leader they are in mass fraud and malpractice. Do I need to remind you of the major economic crisis and its roots?

You can come up with a thousand theories regarding polls and the way an election works. That is not the question we are asking. The question is simple and there is no rocket science involved. How is it possible that a vile and racist guy like Trump is leading the polls in a supposedly literate and educated America? Mind you, a superpower. Why are so many supposedly highly educated and civilized people in the US attracted to the racist and misogynist rhetoric? Trump presents blatant lies and some of the most absurd promises he can't even fulfil. It is a question worth pondering over. Just don't hate us for asking this question.

If a "sane" person like Obama is able to inflict this much damage one can only imagine the amount of trouble Trump is going to cause.

He'll build a wall too, make the Mexicans pay for it, put Muslims in a database and disallow Muslims from entering the US. If this is what you term making America great again good luck with that...

Trump says he will get the Iraqi oil and snatch it from them. Surely he will be loved by the Middle East. Last time I heard, Middle Eastern nations vowed to take their investments away from the US if this nutter became elected.

The muslim ban or database thing isn't going to happen, that was just a clever political ploy to get the most right wing votes.
A wall makes sense if they have a big problem with illegal immigration, that's for Americans to decide.

So he is lying? This isn't a clever political ploy, but suicide. If he doesn't deliver on the Muslim database he'll get a lot of flack. The reason why Trump is so popular is mainly due to his anti-Muslim rhetoric. Islamophobia is the new national sport over there. People will distrust not only the common politicians, but also new candidates.

Surely, they can build a wall, but the Mexicans aren't paying for it like Trump is promising.

Trump is an ordinary liar and he's about to shoot himself in the foot.
