'Dog bites killed more than 2 terror attacks'

Its called INDOG, or Pariah Dog, the Most Natural,Resilient, strong, clever dog.
They need very less upkeep, eat less and are always athletic in defending boundaries. They never suffer the Genetic diseases caused by Interbreeding dog species and creating Mongrels done by Western Nations, like Dalmatian,Great Dane,Daschunds,Pugs,Bloodhounds,Bulldogs, molossers etc.
They hardly have such genetic abnormalities as they are naturally evolved breed. Most live atleast 12 years shortest, while others live 16 years or more.By this time other foreign breeds develop Hip Dysplasia,Kidney Problems,Heart Problems etc.
You know about "Bakhrewal" Kutta?
It will only feed on milk and protect the sheep/Goats from Predators,But it never hunts or eats meat of Goat/sheep it herds. That is its loyalty.
According to experts, the Bakerwali dog is different from a common dog in many ways. It is vegetarian — it only feeds on milk and bread made of maize. This helps to keep it away from attacking the flock. Birth rate among the Bakerwali dogs is also low as compared to common dogs.

Never heard of "Bakhrewal" kutta. Can you tell us more ?

.
my solution to this - put these "animal rights activists" into a stadium, close the gates and inside release 200 dogs some of which have attacked or killed people, broadcast the scenes live on tv.

psycho.
I think DRDO should do research on libido reducing drugs for dogs. :)
Stray dogs are also due to large amount of food stuff left outside in cities, otherwise these dogs cant survive. I dont want mass killing of stray dogs unless situation is dire.

1. the situation is dire.

2. most "stray dogs" don't survive on some remotely found scrap but are protected and fed especially in middle class areas by neo-rich middle class females... how else would india's dog population be so well-fed and rise to 35+ million in just 17 years after 1998 ( maneka gandhi in the bjp/nda government )?? :)

3. the sterilization of dogs "solution" that was advanced by "animal rights activists" was never intended to achieve its goal... dogs inherently are cruel, brutal and pack oriented... the sterilization does not remove those attributes.

4. especially in bangalore there are dog-friendly restaurants and tri-monthly dog shows and in both bangalore and madras there are dog hotels - this while india has 70 million homeless humans... the huge dog population in india is the rest of middle class insanity.

I doubt enough middle class women feed stray dogs, its only a few. Stray dogs might have increased after rapid urbanization.
Sterilization is for reduction in number not to make dogs less aggressive. Clearly its not working. But I would still blame people for leaving garbage outside(same goes for hotels).

Anyway, we need some cost effective way to reduce their number. I do support identifying and killing of aggressive stray dogs that bite kids.
I have no issues people pampering their pets, why cant dogs have fun.

These awara (stray) dogs which our common in our part of the world. What breed are they?
These are called the pariah dogs. It is a natural breed, and thus one of the sturdiest and smartest dogs in the world.

It is an extremely alert, very social dog. Its rural evolution, often close to forests where predators like tigers and leopards were common, has made it an extremely cautious breed and this caution is not to be mistaken for a lack of courage. They make excellent watch dogs and are very territorial and defensive of their pack/family. They need good socializing as pups and do well with families and children if provided with such socialization. They are highly intelligent and easily trainable, but can get bored equally easily, and not want to play typical, repetitive dog games like "fetch"

Being a naturally evolved, hardy and perfected breed, they have very few health concerns and thrive with minimal "maintenance", especially in tropical weather.

The skin needs very little grooming and the dogs themselves are relatively clean. They have no body odour. Genetic health ailments like hip dysplasia and so on are extremely rare, since in a naturally evolved race only the fittest individuals breed and flaws are bred out.

They are generally very healthy and average life expectancy is over 15 years under good care.

MUMBAI: Dog bites in Mumbai accounted for more deaths in 20 years than the combined toll in two deadly terror strikes in the city-the 1993 serial bomb blasts and 26/11 attacks.

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) made this startling disclosure before the Supreme Court on Wednesday. Since 1994, a total of 429 people, bitten by stray dogs, have succumbed to rabies and during the same period dog bites injured 13.12 lakh people. In the 1993 serial bomb blasts, a total of 257 people were killed and 717 injured. The 26/11 fidayeen attack on Mumbai resulted in 164 deaths and injuries to 308 others. Together, the toll was 421 deaths and 1,025 injured.

Appearing for the BMC, senior advocate Shekhar Naphade targeted NGOs which have moved the court against culling of strays. He told a bench of Justice Dipak Misra and P C Pant "the NGOs are active and make noise only in court. Every year, a large number of persons get bitten by dogs in Mumbai. When we try to remove the dogs, animal lovers protest. They do nothing on the ground to eliminate the problem. Let NGOs disclose to the court what have they done at the ground level".

Dog menace: SC asks animal board for rules

Appearing for a widow whose daily wager husband died of dog bite in Kerala, advocate V K Biju said the SC must decide which authority - the civic body or state government - should compensate the family.
micus curiae Dushyant Dave joined shoulder with Naphade and said he had received a message from a lady who has a spastic child who fears dogs. "She cannot take her child even around the housing society because of the huge number of stray dogs."

"There is one thing to be animal lover. But these animal lovers are so passionate that they obstruct the work of the civic bodies in capturing the stray dogs and sterilise them. Have the NGOs protested when infants are killed by stray dogs? Have the NGOs compensated the victims' families? Apart from injuries, several people desist from taking walk in the morning and evening because of the fear they have from dogs," he said.
The court, while asking the Animal Welfare Board to formulate a module to deal with the menace of stray dogs, asked states and union territories to respond to Dave's questions - how many deaths have been caused due to rabies and the number of dogs sterilised by the civic bodies. On Naphade's complaint against obstructionist attitude of NGOs, the bench said: "We direct sterilisation and vaccination of stray dogs in accordance with the law and no NGO shall create any impediment in this work."

I suppose stuff like that will go a long way in creating a 'perfect' enlightened communist society, right ?

good stuff, comrade, let's round up animal rights activists and feed them to the dogs. :butcher:

Bakhrewali kutta is a sheep herding dog, used in North India around Himachal Pradesh,J$K in hilly areas etc.
It won't eat meat and lives on a diet of milk and maize. This is almost a dying breed, not many dogs around and the owners dont give them up so easily as they are prized by them.
