THE STATUS OF TURKISH SYNCHROTRON RADIATION SOURCE MACHINE DESIGN

Abstract
Turkish synchrotron radiation source named TURKAY, is a part of the TAC (Turkish Accelerator Center) Project, is at conceptual design process. The radiation properties of a SR sources are strongly depends on the magnetic lattice of the storage ring. The storage ring is designed to obtain low emittance electron beam at 3 GeV energy. Optimization of the lattice properties, including the nonlinear dynamics, is described in detail. Radiation properties are calculated by the example of some existing undulators from the other SR facilities.

I bet this project will cost billions of dollars. Soon we'll be a mmber state of CERN. So why do we start this project?

It is mostly used in Laser technology right? Turkey works on its own Laser weapon, so its ok to do it..

Turkey already has a proton accelerator institute. Erdogan opened it in 2012. They produce radioactive products for hospital needs for Micro radiology.

Those things saved my leg.

.
They should just join Cern and Esa already. Cooperation in science is a must.

. . .
Yes god dammit of course we need to invest as much as we can to science.

Is this even a question?

a particle acelarator is for a university to raise its tution fees , so if you want to raise your tution fees and attract foreign students then you definitely need one
