Documentary-Diaoyu Islands - The Truth

What good does it do by having a Pro China emperor and PM? Hatoyama's career didn't last long and Japanese Emperor doesn't seem to have much influence/power. The relation took a nose dive because of the island dispute and according to the poll the majority of Japanese citizens have negative views towards China despite being the No 1 holiday destination for Japanese. Some have either optimistic or pessimistic views towards future relations between China/South Korea with Japan because of historic events, Japanese history education and territorial issues.

That is because of USA taking these China faction down. Japan is controlled by USA.

As to 9/10th of the law, Japan better back us up in SCS then, cause we possess 75%+ of all land mass there.

Japan , clearly, isn't involved in any SCS agitation and we will remain clear of complicating relations.

The US actually invited Japan to increase its presence in the SCS, but Japan has deflected such requests , in an attempt to help diffuse the situation and to evade in antagonizing China. That should at least be considered by the Chinese side, a genuine attempt by the Japanese side to prevent further multilateral complications.

However it does complicate it for you. Dialog is needed, Japan need to compromise, it may not have to be giving up the islands, but you better not put your ADIZ right next to our shores. Tell me this isn't crazy.

@Genesis ,

The Japanese and Chinese ADIZ may cross each other, but we actually have a working maritime & air mechanism that handles these issues effectively. There is a direct channel between our militaries that enables each side to identify each other, hail each other, make presence known, and then disengage.

Thats right. There are strong pro China faction in Japan for example PM Hatoyama called for union with China, making USA fumed.

The time China and Japan fight over Diaoyu (Senkaku), the white man will stand to gain.

The strategy is to drag on, not to fight with Japan, meanwhile bid for time. When China become stronger and USA weaker, so will pro USA faction in Japan.

Words of wisdom.

Thats exactly the attitude how china was being taken advantage of, even by those who are weaker. I would prefer to be a big menace than to give up our territories and strategic ground in order to be "friendly". China have been mostly inactive for the last few decades and the unresolved matters didnt work out, maybe its time to be bit more "friendly" in american style.

Exactly. Being aggressive and respected is much preferable to being humble and admired.

I love it when others depict China as aggressive and unruly.

Just make your own laws as you go on and change them as you wish.

That's real strength. That's what we should aim for. One cannot beat the Western colonialists by being nice and cuddly.

As for China-Japan relations, let allow the status quo to prevail as social, economic and diplomatic interaction grows further. This will eventually undermine the US influence over the nation. Once the US is taken out of the equation, the two sides can work out a working solution. As two civilization-nations, neither China nor Japan needs US interference.

Last thing I want is a confrontation since I believe that the only side to benefit from such a fight between neighbors would be the US.

Propagandistic jargon. Your understanding of Japanese Politics is too simplistic. Caution you to read more into Japanese Political Economy.

No need to complex your political structure which is still ruled by the right-wing power.

Since nowadays your country still refuses to official apologize for the WWII atrocities, even refuse to acknowledge in your history book.

The truth is still the truth.

It is part of our territorial sovereignty, and it doesn't matter if this tiny island is garbage or not.

Japan has changed the status quo since April 2012, so they have to pay for provoking China's territorial sovereignty.

The US knows exactly about Japan's hunger for power, that's why they can successfully capitalize it.

The dream of the Japanese Empire never dies even after the defeat of the WWII.

The Japanese are more than happy to play into the dirty American hands all at our expenses!
What more insidious of the Japanese is they pose themselves as the "victims"

In the mind of those right-wing Japanese warmongers, the Mainland China should serve as the main vessel of their Japanese Empire.

In order to achieve that, they need to first exterminate the Chinese race, so the Japanese race can become the majority to populate our land.

That's why there were so many chemical warfare against the Chinese army and the defenseless Chinese civilians during the WWII.

Even Abe is still glorifying it today, so this was indeed part of their plan.

Precisely

The Japanese has been trying to eradicate their atrocities in WW2 by
1. building up and re-polishing their images
2. educating their youngsters on a wrong course through changing the texts about WW2 in their history books
3. holding anniversary commemorating the bombing of Japan by USA BUT to fails to commenmorate and to apologise/compensate to the millions of deaths and sufferers in Asia during imperial Japanese invasion
4. quietly building up its military industry and promoting right wing mentaliy, expanding their weaponry sales business while also heavily arming themselves
5. trying to change their Pacifists Constitution
6 trying to build an "arc of freedom" aiming to marginalise China
7 aiding or abetting our enemies over other conflicts against us like SCS disputes

They are still a second rate power, and no matter how hard they try, they would never become a superpower.

Even a mere AIIB has nearly driven them nuts.

Have you seen those countless insane videos posted by the Japanese posters on YouTube? About 71% of them are against to join AIIB.

No the case cant be established
Crazy people refuse to admit anything second rated especially when they have a large cohort and the hegemony to back them up

@Nihonjin1051 I think you know this but the dispute isn't about the islands themselves. If China could make enormous concessions to weak Central Asian states they could easily give up the Diaoyu Islands. China sits on enough gas to last centuries, and can even siphon out much of the gas under the Diaoyu/Senkaku's through it's part of UNCLOS delineated EEZ.

This is about Japan being infuriatingly subservient to Americans, who are nothing but the newest version of white imperialist savages. This hurts Japan more than anyone else but creates political impossibilities with two Koreas, the PRC and ROC. It also completely undermines any talk of being a peaceful nation. The fact remains that Japan has been hostile to China for the last 150 years even though we've done everything in the world to be friendly to you, right up until the end and even after the tragedy of 3/11. China has only ever been punished for being nice to Japan, beginning in 1600 AD. You cannot honestly expect any Chinese political leader to make more concessions and avoid being assassinated in the next 24 hours.

Most Chinese people (on mainland and on Taiwan) are infuriated by Japan's condescending attitude on the islands. Japan can certainly be as arrogant as the LDP likes but at least be arrogant and independent. Japan hasn't even shown China (or any Asian nation) the most basic level of cordiality or respect one would expect for a crippled dog, much less a benign and friendly people who have been so thoroughly betrayed and wronged by your nation in the last century. Much less for the world's second largest economy and perhaps the biggest market for your most profitable goods. Meanwhile you cower in front of Russia and walk a step behind the Americans like they're you're fathers.

If we were like Americans or Russians believe me a war would have started already, and we both know that Japan is strong but could not hope to fend off a pan-Chinese offensive today, not even to speak of 10, 20 years later.
