I don't think Pakistan can start official (even low key) ties with Israel anytime soon. The loss from the middle east countries would be immense.
Not at all. It might even work in favour, certainly not a loss. If you carry a economic audit and see which country Middle East favours most then India comes out as first easily. The foreign remittances from GCC/KSA are far greater to India then Pakistan despite India having recognized Israel. This tells me there is no financial penalty to be paid for recogonizing Israel.

The real problem is mad mullahs who have managed to build strong street power on very simple crude 'shouts'. One being 'Israel'. Overcoming this group is the problem. You mentioned about poor Indian being more worried about their everyday issues. In Pakistan this group is more bloody worried about the Palestinians. This is the real problem.

Yes I mean it more from a perception standpoint. Pakistan on paper can bite the bullet and there wouldn't be so much blowback externally.....but the internal blowback would be tremendous.....because too many people have certain things imprinted in their heads about the great ummah and evil jews....and this certainly originates in many cases from the "ummah" (KSA) in the first place...but in the end Pakistanis of course are responsible for being loyal sheep.

Thats why I foresee nothing going to change and status quo being there for a good long time between Pakistan and Israel.

Yet,90% of these countries have relations with Israel, see the irony?

Unofficial relations will always be there among everybody. I am talking about official out in the open relations. Yes Egypt and Jordan (and I guess Turkey) are good examples for Pakistan to follow in this case....but the 99% of other middle east countries are adamant about having no official relations with Israel and expect the "ummah/OIC" to follow this holy commandment.....it comes from the custodians of Mecca and the Kabbah, it has to be respected!

. . . . .

Excellent documentary! Thanks!

I sincerely hope in addition to the hardware countries acquire from Israel, there is an upgrade in the "software" (esp regarding their govt and elites) regarding the real issue of extremism and terrorism emanating from parts of the world.

That one guy hits the nail on the head when he talks about the "politically correct" phenomenon that has infected liberal, left-leaning govts in Europe.

Israel, a nation forged in conflict and survival, is an excellent partner for India in several crucial fields I feel. A lot is happening behind the scenes between the two, esp after the Mumbai terror attacks, and I hope it stays that way.

Rest of the documentary was very interesting in seeing the Israeli psychology that is inculcated from early age.
