Do Women need protector in men?

I think in good societies the question of weaker/stronger sex becomes moot. We don't have to arm wrestle to co-exist. We have to deal with bigger issues like paying the bills, saving for retirement, happiness, serving society, etc.

To answer your question - if there is a need men should not hesitate to protect anyone who is in need including women, but this should not turn into a body guard role as in buzz around them constantly.

Once upon a time I saw these guys harass some young girls close to my house. Now they were handling it very well, they were saying something the girls were giving some sharp come backs. I didn't intervene, however I just went closer to the scene and just stood there to make my presence known to the guys to ensure if the situation escalates beyond the verbal they won't have it so easy. When it went on a little further, I pulled out a cellphone looking at them which spooked them as they thought I was calling the cops on them and they drove off. I walked off without saying a word.

If you see someone carrying heavy groceries to their home, should you not help them out? For a woman the heavy lifting is obviously harder so men might be more inclined to offer help to her.

I can't comment for the men and women who live in cities where there is extreme danger to women, in those cases the usual thinking is jaan bachay toh lakhon paye.

My mother was my protector during my growing days and so were my elder sisters. But the overall protector was the father, the head of the family and again a man. If today lets say there is a economic collapse worldwide, there is a shortage of food and water, civilization as we know it no longer exists, tell me who will women survive?

So you mean to tell me that all of those millions of men who fought bravely in those trenches, in those battlefields, in the high seas to thousands of feet in the air as well as under the deep blue oceans, knowing they will have spears, blades, arrows, bullets, artillery/tank shells, shrapnel, piercing through their body, shredding them to pieces and that they will never see their loved ones ever again, and the ones who survived were permanently mentally scarred for life, yet they courageously stood their ground for what they believed in because to them it was worthy enough to go through all of the misery thrown at them, they had the courage which you are here downplaying.

Men were the pioneers, engineers of the societies we currently live in. They discovered, they built, they invented, they fought, they sacrificed, and its just messed up to see people belittle them.

As far as guiding your sibling is concerned I sorta agree Elder sister can be a better guide to younger brother, than the other way round.

Completely agree... Have 3 elder sisters.. They all have guided me throughout my life..Even now I consult them before taking a big decision. Selfless love..

Most women will always claim how they are strong and indipendent yet they will always marry as strong , rich and powerful man as they can get even if he is an a$$hole . Why ? Their thirst for security . Inspite of all the facade of strength and indipendence women always look for a protector in a man . I dont know if my husband thinks so but than he is always all ears to me .so i dont find any reason to nag him.Poor mee i cant nag him.
