Two nation theory failed when an equal population of Muslim in India didnt move to Pakistan. It was utterly bogus when they claimed Hindus will control Muslim majority states. I mean, Sikhs rule Punjab, Muslims rule Kashmir, If partition hadnt happened, the 5 states would have been controlled by respective majority populace. And of course Beef would have been legal in those states like it is in Kerala and other Indian states. A completely federal set up.

Some of my family members praise how Muslims protected Integrity of Kashmir by rejecting Pakistan and others criticize the same people for the exodus . Some hate Nehru for his Kashmir policy while others praise him for protecting the Pandit community .

The basic premise of two nation theory was muslim makes one nation, rest make others.

Two nation theory is not valid in India because it was based on the religious divide. India has Hindus+Muslims+Christians+Sikhs+Buddhists+Zionists+Atheists.
So that is almost every faith available in the world. If we were to be divided on religion then India would have existed in bits and pieces.

Maybe you guys in Pakistan finds the two nation theory valid and reasonable in the current world scenario but at a time when the world is getting more and more diverse (except maybe the middle-east) a theory based on religious divide will find it difficult to attract intellectual minds.
