If you India is not tough/capable of fighting, then why did you abandon Pakistan in 1971, after making promises of support.

You abandoned one of your closest allies in the time of heaviest peril Pakistan faced, and that too against a country you claim cannot fight, strange.

We achieved our main geopolitical goal, which was to prove that the USSR would not intervene on behalf of Vietnam. Done.

The other goal was to "punish them". In that, we killed far more of their soldiers than the other way round, as well as significantly penetrating into their territory. After we did the damage to both their army and their infrastructure, we left.

So yes, Vietnam can actually handle themselves. India cannot.
