What's new

Ditched by US and betrayed by Russia, but India still tore down Chinese wall

PLs tell me what we will gain by having my country as a part of the security council (new and extended)?
its just waste of time and efforts...
Which issue or problem or international incident saw Security council intervening and bringing a successful resolution of the escalated issue/tension and restored world order or world peace?

We should stop chasing such nonsense and rather concentrate on improving our own country internally in all fronts.. the status, importance and position will automatically come when we are economically far more resilient and strong with adequate military might and when countries themselves support India needs to be their based on its own strength and importance in world order.

As if this ditching by US, betrayal by Russia or hard diplomatic efforts by China or even more adjectives or superlatives mean anything to us..

Totally agree.

UNSC seat without veto power is waste of time and the current UNSC veto powers will never allow new veto members.

Instead of wasting all the leverage and power that India has at it's disposal for this useless UNSC seat without veto power, India should rather use it to make itself economically and militarily strong.

Nation states are always jostling for power and influence. In this case India, Germany, Japan are revisionist and P5 are status quo powers. Calling it betrayal is naive. Nations are supposed to defend their own interests, they have no other purpose for existence. But India is not ready for a larger international role, IMHO. After Korean war, our Armed Forces have not played any international role beyond the region. We will be edged out of Farkhor by Russia soon enough. Politicians are too dumb, bombastic and lack long-term vision. Diplomacy is stuck in cold war era, when non-alignment may have made some sense. Now we have two powerful enemies- China and Pakistan, and Zero allies. Until we are ready, we should tag with US for now.
