Its a good point but in my opinion , the difference is that a dark skin is not appreciated in india and many people would be discriminated or mistreated over having a darker skin too . People have dislikeness for the darker tone ( same for pakistan ) ... thats what distinguish from the whites obtaining tan colour .Are tanning booths racists too? I'm not qualified to talk about Pakistan but in India fairness creams have always been about making darker brown Indians into fairer brown Indian. Everyone wants to have an underlying brown hue, it's just that they want the lightest version of it. White skin has a red or green hue to it and that isn't desired.
Tan skin would not be a requirement to get the good job in a white country but in india people use fairer creams to get good jobs good impression , to look different ..
