what is the basic difference between the bd MI-17sh and the indian MI-17 V5 . and which is better and why?

Able to accommodate 36 troops or 12 stretchers plus 3 crew

Operational capability:

Max altitude: 6000m
Max speed: 250km/h
Max range: 580km

Weapons:

-Can be fitted Shturm-V high-precision guided missile system which can destroy tanks and aerial objects
-Able to carry 80 S-8 rockets
-GSh-23L 23mm cannons can be mounted
-small arms can be mounted on the helicopter.



IMO this helicopter is a good buy. I guess it will be mostly used for transporting troops, distributing aid during disasters. With a range of 580km and with a space to carry 4000kg, it will allow our troops to be deployed all over the country as well as distribute aid in huge amounts during disaster. Its ability to perform in various types of weather will definately be a plus for us. Even though it may not be as good as an attack helicopter, it is quite adequate for us.

Well both of the helicopters have the same max speed and max ceiling.

MI 17v5(590km) has better range than MI 171sh(580km)

MI 17v5 (5000kg)can carry more load externally than MI 171sh(4000kg)

Mi 171sh has a greater quantity and can fire a greater variety of wepons than MI 17V5

As far as i know, Mi 171sh can counter SAMs and AAMs, while MI17v5 cant

I never denied the fact that it was combat capable, i only mentioned that Mi 171sh is more combat capable than Mi 17v5.
Both the helicopters have the same engines and almost the same electronic systems.

Anyway my point is that Mi 171sh is more combat capable than Mi 17v5, while Mi17v5 is a more transport capable helicopter than Mi 171sh

V5 is meant to be transport heli while 1sh is meant to be used for warfare.

i completely agreed with avisheik. as far as bd need more combat role and transport equaly. The india uses hind mi 24( NATO Alligator) as their combat purposes. i think mi 17v5 looks better and smart and its electronics is lil more advanced than bd mi 17sh.others are similar like engine,load capacity.celling,flight range.
