The contract was awarded to ISRO, satellite launching is big business and there is competition to win orders.
You proved you have no idea on how business works it was a deal between Canada and India nothing to do with taking advantage but in getting $$ is what it boils down to.
The cable, dated Oct. 6, 2008, classified as secret but posted on the website Wikileaks, was written under the headline: "Canada considering space launch alternatives due to Russia's invasion of Georgia."
Russian tanks had rolled across the border into Georgia in August 2008 to aid separatists in the breakaway region of South Ossetia. Fergusson says there were concerns in the West and among the NATO allies about the conflict.
"This was an attempt to signal displeasure over Russian actions and, given the economic situation, this is money for the Russian space industry," he said in an interview.
and you my friend, have proven that you have failed reading the article and failed to comprehend and blindly supported deals that harms your close friend Russia given their struggling economy.
you are the Judge ? we need affiliation from you ?
Don't try and sway away from the issue. The issue was India will gladly accept contracts with little hesitation despite it being a political move and knowing that it will hurt its friend
It is not about buying something. You are exporting more rice in market, If you will stop your sell pakistan may get more market. It is about giving your own market to ally. For bold part i can only laugh. why should India pay anything to Russia when it do business with anyone.
Nope if China stops selling rice, then it would result in shortages various types of rice and global prices for rice would also increase. Basmati rice can only be described as a niche product at best and is miles apart in comparison to rocket launches.
One can only laugh at your stupidity in coming up with such a feeble example.
I Agree that Russia did technological help to India. Similar was the case of China.
Don't need you to agree neither do I care if you don't. It is a well known fact regardless.
But At least we don't make illegal copies of thr fighter jets and call J 11, 15, xx or something.
Talk about being successful Steve Jobs way. More specifically, India does not have the skills and technology needed to incorporate and produce improved military technology. You can stop being jealous already, India is the biggest importer of military equipments for a reason
Who told this to you, No Indian member behaving or even want Russia to weep in sorrow. May be it is chinese dream of you.
It's all for people to see, why must I dream? I don't waste time dreaming things like you Indians do. We as a culture likes to plan ahead and utilize our time wisely, not wasting time dreaming about other's demise or spend countless hours hunting for every little negative bits of news articles and sensationalizing it on forums
So whats wrong in this? India should not do business?
India can do business however they like, that's not my problem. I was merely pointing out the fact that India would take advantage of so called "awarded contracts" given the fact that they were politically motivated to hurt your close friend Russia.
Surely that is a form of betrayal. What made it worse are people like yourselves trying to defend and justify such a traitorous act
If it is like this why are you manufacturing (copying) Russian fighter jets and trying to sell here and thr? Arn't you supposed to be a trusted partner too?
We Chinese never considered Russia to be our best friends to begin with, we are still buying technologies from Russia albeit on much reduced levels but most importantly, we have managed to fuse our ideas with the west as well as Russia into new fusion products. Not just importing and slapping on the usual paint job and label the Indian way. India can do so by all means if they could, it would save them a wad load of cash.
Do you even think before you post?
Yes, the question should be.
DO YOU?
