While many of the educated Indians clamor for Modi, who knows what is going on in the minds of the silent uneducated majority who is capable of springing a surprise or two like they did in 2004 though BJP did reasonably well focussing on development rather than Hindutva politics between 2000 and 2004.

I worked in many village medical camps and rural areas, when i say people hate congress i mean even the rural people know what is being done.Everyone has access to Digital tv set box,mobile phone nowadays they see and they can decide.Donno about other states but in AP.If Telangana is formed it will be NDA all the way as telangana people favor BJP,if telangana won't be formed Congress will lose badly in telangana due to pro-telangana parties.
Rayalseema which somewhat supports YSR CONGRESS is so far is neutral will align with whichever party makes it to the center.Andhra leaders support congress as long as congress keeps this state intact once they start mentioning the division of AP all their leaders will abandon congress camp and form individual or local parties.I know this as a fact Gandhi Bhavan (Head quarters of Congress) in AP is worried about it and i know many congress leaders who are known to my family when i say leaders i mean veterans of congress in AP.
The biggest gainer out of all this fiasco will be if played cards right is the TDP(ex ally of NDA).once BJP gets good numbers at center it will join again, they are opportunists thats all.
The summary is its in best interests of congress to keep the AP state intact but doing so will lead to loss of all seats in telangana.If they do split the state they will lose andhra and rayalseema who are for united AP.It's devil or the deep sea for congress in AP. All this was caused by a goofup in speech by Chidambaram who mentioned formation of telangana will be done soon.You just gave a hungry tiger a taste of blood and it won't leave you untill its satisfied,so far they were stalling the issue of separate state so they can delay this decision till elections.
