having those three wheeler rickshaws,which supports the people to cover normally 2-3km easly by this and the cngs are also very popular sidewise almost does the same thing as richsaw's but as this is more adavanced so it can cover the place which are at the far ends

At some point Dhaka will get ahead again once the Metro Rail and the BRTS is sorted out.

Seriously,at what point dear ? Kolkata already have a 28 km long line under operation,and 4 more will come up by 2016-2017.

Meanwhile,your metro rail is yet to start construction-expected date of completion for the 20 km long first line was 2020,I guess it would be delayed again

I hope you'll have a metro rail by the time 'Thiruvananthapuram ',Kerala ,a tier 2/3 Indian city would have started a metro service

Yeah what I don't understand is how these bangladeshis somehow seem to forget that Calcutta's growth wrt public transport is ongoing, and will never stop. This means that, at any given point in the future, Calcutta will ALWAYS be ahead of dhaka irrespective of the latter's strides in its currently non-existent public transportation network.

While West Bengalis are in general poor and 30% of their state economy is indebted to India. 25% of their population are foreigners from other states in whose hands are the wealth are. They will see the shiny buildings and roads from outside but no power to enter or money to ride a taxi cab.

We could have built one or two metro rail if only we could siphoned off 2-3 billion dollar from the pocket of our village people. We don't have 60 percent of our population defecate open,nor our village farmers committing suicide in thousands like in India.Our children are not dying on a similar number like India for massive malnutrition and lack of sanitation and other poverty related causes. Our 97 percent people have personal sanitary latrine and more than 97 percent drink pure drinking water and village road infrastructure is in much better shape than many road in Dhaka and Chittagong. What india is doing is nothing other than a form of Internal colonialism where 1 billion people are exploited for the benefit of few urban elite caste.
