Why you post even before a little bit of research??

Mumbai Airport alone handles 10 times the total number of flights in whole of BD. Mumbai has daily 1300 departures/ arrivals.

BTW India's and S. Asia's largest airport is Delhi, with total of 40 million pax. a year (26th largest in the world). Delhi alone handles around 1500 departures/ arrivals a day. (Compare to Dhaka which sees 100 arrivals/ departures in a day)

Let us build one with advance design and products then come to us to compare between the airports
Bro India is huge so it needs more backup more space and etc etc but Bd doesn't need that much vast space to support the passengers

But there is no denying that Kolkata is a better city than Dhaka. Be it infrastructure, public transport, education facilities, medical facilities, sporting and recreatinal facilities, Kolkata is ahead of Dhaka!

OK it is true that in recent times Kolkata has made a lot of progress compared to Dhaka because of massive IT investments. But Dhaka has floundered because it has been overburdened with all of Bangladesh' population descending on it, where as Kolkata has had people leaving in massive numbers. there are close to 12 million people living in Dhaka today and it is the world's 11th largest city by population.

At some point Dhaka will get ahead again once the Metro Rail and the BRTS is sorted out. When the BRT was intro'd in Islamabad, that alone decreased road traffic by 30%. So things will change.

According to my older family members - Kolkata was a city worse than Dhaka until very recently (ten years ago). Ask your parents and grandparents.

BTW how many of you Bhartiyas have ever been to Dhaka? I doubt if any of you guys (except one or two) did. Seeing is believing....

I was there last week, in Kolkata right now , so I think I can make a pretty fair assessment . Trust me, I have nothing against Dhaka or Bangladesh.

Kolkata too is a massive construction zone right now, with the north south and east west metro,various elevated road corridors and several dozen 30+ floors skyscrapers under construction under construction.

What Dhaka desperately needs is a dedicated business district, something along the line of New Town, Kolkata or BKC, Mumbai, and roads, lots of it!

I really don't get it brother.Why they are repeatedly saying that we need to improve in infrastructure &public transport!
The buildings which they see on internet,basically those were built alteast 15-20years back.I know those looks bit odd in comparison with today's structured building and that's really a fact!The building which were made since 2010 or more,those are quite attractive builts and the one's which are building right now or since last year,those looks mind blowing and attractive too and as everything changes with the time being so no one to really blame on! You can't compare our rail station or airport because thpse were built in a different time.It was attractive to the people at that time.Atleast our inter-city bus service is best but city service not that bad but nothing to do as long as the traffic is not controlled well.Well!We got Laguna,cng,rickshaw,taxi cab etc etc
