Dhaka to Delhi: crack down on drug factories near border

Let the drug addicts find some substitutes for 'dyle. But, first thing first. India should demolish all the 'dyle factories that produce it to supply to BD.

Agreed, it would be great if we could demolish those factories. But the article is missing important information, namely: Is the production of this 'drug' legal or illegal in India?

If the production of that drug is legal in India, then the BSF and BDR must make a joint plan to prevent the smuggling of that drug into Bangladesh. No way India can demolish those factories if they are legal in India.

Amira Foods India, the largest Indian held rice company, has bagged a rice deal in Bangladesh. According to the deal, Amira Foods will supply 60,000 MT of rice to Bangladesh worth USD 30 million.

The Tender is awarded by The Government of Peoples Republic of Bangladesh. Amira Foods won the tender by offering the lowest bid.

Commenting on the deal, Karan A Chanana, Group MD, Amira Group, said, ``This is one of the important deals for Amira Foods in recent time. We participated in the bid process and won with quoting the lowest price. Recently Bangladesh had shown interest in purchasing rice from world market as they are short of grains this year. Looking at not so good rice production in India, we will have to source rice from other countries as well. As we believe that the world should connect through the language of food, we are here to export rice to the countries who need it.``

Although rice production in India is estimated to rise by 6%, it will not be good enough to export. So, for the execution of contract, Amira Foods will source rice from countries like Vietnam, Thailand and Pakistan.

Actually this is a legitimate demand. I will agree with the Bangladesh government. After all, they helped us this time with handing over of terrorists from ULFA and other petty organizations.

I think GOI should take this request seriously and act. It will then strengthen ties between the two and develop trust just as last years anti-terror operation against drug peddlers and terrorists in Indo-Burmese border by Indian and Burmese armies.
