Director General ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor has refuted news published by Dawn titled "Pak-Iran Forces jointly conduct border patrolling".

In a tweet on Monday, he said this news is factually incorrect.

He said there is no joint patrolling anywhere on Pakistani borders.

The DG said patrolling or operations if required are always on respective sides by respective forces through coordination.

Whenever Imran Khan has brought up the quarrel between Iran and Saudi Arabia, and said that Pakistan is trying to mediate between the two, he has always referred to Saudi Arabia as a friend and Iran as a neighbor.

Big reasons behind it.

.
why we cant ban Dawn all together as its a mouth piece of India and US in Pakistan. This paper have got no interests of Pakistan to consider other then spread misinformation amongst the locals. I always wonder what's stopping us??

.
I think it's probably lazy journalism rather than malicious. I always assumed joint border patrol was them on their side, us on our side, and coordinating patrols to ensure there aren't gaps which aren't being patrolled.

.
If the military can ban geo from Cantt areas then why not ban Dawn from all military/government offices. This can be used as a legitimate reason for this type of action.

No need to be soft on these traitors. Be proactive before its too late.

Many others posted same false info, why did the DG selectively point out DAWN? Making the clash more obvious. Non-professional.

That media house headed by a rapist is blatantly publishing lies and wrong economic stats e.t.c.

Instead of independent reporting they portray/frame news in such a way that a person only can infer a bad opinion about the current state of the country.

They are sellouts.

It is time to bring it down for good.

Looking for pemra ... where is it?

Regardless of their repute, the tweet wasn't necessary, and if so, it should have corrected the likes of Radio Pakistan and The News too. Crackdown further degrades our image, when will we realize this.

This is the reason why I hate and will never support DAWN and GEO, because they publish FAKE news against Pakistan's institutes like the above. I mean seriously, whats the rational behind the above incorrect news, which is related to Pakistan Army? I am certain people wouldve remembered who did DAWN LEAKS. I am surprised after countless irresponsible fake news and reports both (DAWN & GEO) are still operational and not BANNED by Govt and Pemra.

Seems more like a case of a bad choice of words then malice. In any case, for me, the words 'joint patrolling' did not insinuate that Iranians came inside Pakistan or Pakistanis went inside Iran at all. Perhaps, coordinated parallel patrolling (let's call it, CPP) might have been a better wording. I see nothing wrong in PA/FC/Rangers carrying out such patrols with Iran. Not only can it improve relations with Iran but also make "dood-ka-dood, aur paani ka paani" apparent, especially if single joint-report is issued regularly by both the states.

These are sensitive matters n with english newspaper they should be careful n this is not the first time ( Dawn leaks , Nawaz Shareef Mumbai interview e.t.c) . Security institutions domain should be left to them , it doesnt matter what u think .

Yes, the others should have been corrected too.

However, you can't just expect PA to stand around while foreign sponsors try to impose color revolutions in the country (PTM, Student march e.t.c) with the help of their local lackeys like dawn e.t.c

PA has to take the info-war to the offensive one day. You start losing physically when you lose the narrative war.
