What's new

DG ISPR mentions ISRO says #AnotherVirChakar

.
ISRO performed 2 new things it hadn't done before ever, A rough braking to slow down the velocity and controlled descent with fine braking.
It performed rough braking flawlessly. Didn't get the 2nd thing right in the final stages.
So yeah, ISRO as an organisation learned a lot from this and also learned what not works in fine braking.
Moreover, ISRO's orbiter is in a polar orbit i.e it will study both the north and south pole, whereas all other orbiters revolve around around the equator on certain axis, thereby learning new things for not just itself, its nation but for the humanity as a whole.
So yeah, we did learn something new and many more lessons will come in near future as orbiter's life is 1 year
Maybe you need to learn about the mission. It was more than the rover and lander
May I ask a few simple questions:
  1. Is this the first orbiter from planet earth?
  2. If not then how is it despite many being sent this one failed and is still counted in victory dances?
  3. Since it is not the only orbiter from planet earth why is it presumed that the data collected from this will benefit mankind when many others have done so previously?
  4. I am not into space science hence these are genuine questions as to what is so special about this one?

And I told you,i work for them. It's not just mere love it's duty, i get paid for it

Donald Trump literally lives off trolling because it gives him his unique attention he so desperately craves.

And this does not bug, annoy or tie down the enemy in what form. What did this achieve?

Did it suddenly bring back Kashmir? No.
Did it suddenly wipe out their army? No.
Has their chief gone into a stroke? No.
Do you think literally anyone in the HQ gave a single flying ****? Probably not.

It didn't effect anyone. Only thing it did was make some emotional Indians butthurt but what's the point in that.

If anything it is more embarrassing for us, we are laughing at India on failing a Moon mission at the last moment while we can't even put off a satellite from our own soil.
Trolling is not supposed to do any of those things. It purely disrupts the online environs within which your enemy operates. It keeps them on their toes, on edge, on alert. And yes, despite your opinions, it is a multibillion dollar industry to troll and counter-troll. I'm not sure what planet you live on, but this is simply the next stage in evolution of printed propaganda. Trolling has been around since warfare began, long before Twitter accounts.

We can all keep up this childish holier than thou pretence but trust me, that has gotten nobody nowhere fast. Pakistan has every right and duty to confront its enemies by all means at its disposal. ESPECIALLY, since hot war seems to be off the table for now.

May I ask a few simple questions:
Answer to all your 4 questions are there in my original post.
Nevertheless for your satisfaction i will answer them again.
Is this the first orbiter from planet earth?
No. But this one is unique which ill tell why in answer to another question.

If not then how is it despite many being sent this one failed and is still counted in victory dances?
Because, we sent it, simple as that. Our lengthy calculations worked. Satellites have been sent hundreds of times by many nations, and yet each successful launch is a victory as it is a complex process where thousands of variables need to be considered.
And no, the orbiter did not fail, lander failed. We can't say if rover failed, because after lander lander crashed
(presumably), rover didn't get a chance to prove its capabilities. Oribter is a success and will go on for another year.

Since it is not the only orbiter from planet earth why is it presumed that the data collected from this will benefit mankind when many others have done so previously?
All other orbiters are in an orbit around the equator of moon i.e. East-West on an axis which has been studied for a long time and we know about it as much as we know about our own planet Earth. What we haven't studied so far are the poles among which south pole is fo greater significance as it doesn't get much sunlight and thus possibly contains higher concentration of water in form of ice and maybe even single celled or primitive life signs since there is more water there.
ISRO's orbiter, which is working perfectly as it was intended to do, is in a polar orbit i.e North-South instead of East-West, thus it will be able to study poles of moon and gather new data of any past life that if it ever existed there and composition of polar surface and ice formation.

I am not into space science hence these are genuine questions as to what is so special about this one?
Answered what is special about this rover above.

Cheers.

True sir.

This was a useless mission. We can't even potty train our population. The army is doing a lot of zulm on Muslims and what do the Hindutvas do?

Send a piece of junk to the Moon.

ISRO's orbiter, which is working perfectly as it was intended to do, is in a polar orbit i.e North-South instead of East-West, thus it will be able to study poles of moon and gather new data of any past life that if it ever existed there and composition of polar surface and ice formation.
And what will you do with the data?

Dig it up and test?

Oh wait, the lander is kaput. Must blame some Muslim scientist in ISRO.

. . . .
I haven't read the whole thread, I don't need to, I have a good idea of how it would have gone
Suffice it to say that credit must be given where credit is due, and credit is due in this case to India and ISRO. It is a great feat they have accomplished regardless of the fact that they didn't fulfill their objectives in their entirety. It is only a matter of time before they do.
I don't understand the rejoicing on the Pakistani side.

So you send it means victory. ...so let's say for the sake of argument...

Someone sends a submarine to Arctic circle ...and india's submarine broke half way...still a success coz you attempted to utilise millions?

Thank you for the clarification. ..that's good to know.

Still doesn't explain how when many have sent and landed successfully ...yours crashed (not orbiter)

By claiming something unique repeatedly won't make it unique...kindly do elaborate
I did elaborate, genius.

Still doesn't explain how when many have sent and landed successfully ...yours crashed
How big do u think that number actually is?
Also not all of them have been soft landings, majority are just crash landings which India already performed in 2008 thus discovering water on moon.
PS:- That number is 3, only 3 nations have managed soft landings on moon, and none on first try.
