Developments of Bangladesh Ordinance Factory In 9 Years

.
They did take up a project to make collimator sights which is not listed here.

They also didn't list FN-16, 105mm artillery/tank ammo. But collimator sights are supplied by Aim Point.

Strong technical know-how on rocket propulsion and guidance systems will help us build our own indigenous, tailored multilayered air defence network as well as a conventional triad (land, sea, air) of ballistic and cruise missiles.

That's aerospace's job.

They should hand it over or sell it to private ownership with military oversight.

And who has the money, will-power and vision to do that in BD? None.

We need to seriously invest in both R&D and licensed manufacture of all sorts of missiles from ATGMs to ballistic missiles.
No one will give you that technology, you need to do R&D by yourselves
But yes you are right. Ballastic missle tech is hard and no will give easy

Pakistan produces a variant of HJ-8 (Baktar Shikan) under license. They even exported to us and Malaysia. We can manufacture ballistic missile with ToT from Ukraine and China. Like Saudi Arabia and Qatar did. Not that hard.

China has already provided BD with ATGM tech as well as manpad
I doubt it, can you give me the link of what you claim ?
BD is already producing man pads and ATGM with TOT from china, read it here on PDF
Link please

ATGM production line is completely new. But we already have production line for FN-16 MANPAD. Don't know if the new production line for existing FN-16 or for a new MANPAD.

Absolutely not. Look at the United States.
While Americans are dying hungry, homeless and without access to clean water or healthcare thr US is spending trillions of dollars in pointless wars primarily because private defence contractors have bought off the Congress, Pdntagon and the Oval Office.

We cannot afford such stupidity.
Military production should be tightly managed and regulated by the Armed Forces to strictly meet their operational needs.
Imagine if "dorbesh" becomes a manufacturer....we will be declaring wars left and right just to keep buying from him.

By "we" I mean the country as a whole not just BOF.

That is exactly what will happen. It may sound funny but people in Iraq and Syria aren't laughing.

Its more about being creative. I understand your concern but bureaucrats are not exactly known to be creative, they are more about their process or system then products. As you can see its not producing much to show for.
Every weapon system in American arsenal came from private and DoD collaboration.

The solution their is to invest in R&D which we have not. Private contractors can be hired for specific tasks but they cannot be allowed to "lead" innovation.

To get a better understanding about what could go wrong with privatising military affairs, watch the below:

We do not invest any in R&D other than agricultural research. Almost none of the Technological University including BUET has any serious research department or center.

Once again problem with Government is it is antitheses of innovation with an astounding inability to think outside the box.

BTW Bangladesh Military is involved almost in every major project in Bangladesh . So MIC exists in Bangladesh in some form or capacity.

They need to come up with some kind of framework for this to work.
