052 destroyer #112 Harbin has been under refit for more than a year, it is now close to completion. Destroyer #113 Qindao has completed same refit.

Original SAM has been removed, but notice the new equipment wrapped in white canvas, in place of original 30mm guns.

antennas have been changed as well, it has some similar systems to type 052c.

Front 30mm gun changed to missile CIWS.

Seems like it will be using the Type 1030 CIWS.

4x twin 37mm Type 76A mounts removed, 2x Type 730 CIWS installed, as well as 2 MLRS for chaff/flares/decoys, active jammers. Original surveillance rader removed, new surveillance radar unit installed in line with existing ships Types of PLAN (053H2/3, 052C etc). Addition of domes radar, probably high rate 3D associated with CIWS.

113 has undergone similar refit and is back in action wih Southern Fleet.
In addition, 112 has probably seen het US LM2500 gasturbines exchanged for Ukrainian GT25000's, which already equip the sistership and 052B/C ships. She's received a new funnel for this purpose.

Looking a lot(!) better than before ... ;-)

Sorry 37mm cannon what I was referring too.
Also no missile CIWS, I've mistaken the chaff launcher with cover on with them.

What are the 2 drum like equipment wtih short protruding arms? They are located at where the original aft 37mm guns were. They are wrapped in white canvas. Are they laser jammer similar to the ones on Type 99 main battle tanks?

Type 730 CIWS. The drum looking apparatus is its fire control radar.

I don't think they are for type 730 CIWS, they are located at the aft section, may be new type of (optronic?) sensor for the multi-purpose tube launchers for chaff/decoy. fire control radar for type 730 CIWS is on top og the gun mount above helicopter hangar.

Oh, you mean the white ones?

They could be new sensors, yes.

They are also installed on 052C destroyer #170. See the red arrow on top left of photo

You are referring to the position in front of the bridge? Those are active jammers (i.e. EW gear).

I think you mean the bow, not the aft, which is the back of the ship.
