US threatening China in the SCS is a blessing in disguise for China.

China usually needs a crisis for it to take action. If the 1996 Taiwan crisis didn't happen, China would not have the military power it does now.

China has been incredibly reserved in its military modernisation so far. Hopefully the US threatening China will allow the perfect excuse for the CPC to get rid of all the liberal tree hugging hippies and get pro-military hardliners in there which will result in more spending on the military and military policy changes.

I hope the US continues to threaten China militarily, gives China the perfect justification for its military buildup.

The biggest obstacle for even faster military development is liberal CPC members that think military development is not important.

Yep, initially it was Deng who made a big mistake by listening to the liberals to scrap our Y-10 commercial airliner.

The liberals hate Mao, so they wanna destroy everything that Mao has left to China.

The Y-10 was also Mao's legacy, and if it wasn't scrapped, China would have already built something equivalent to the Boeing 747, so we wouldn't be waiting for so long.

HQ-19 is a Anti-Balistic Missile Interceptor, a defensive weapon. Many countries around you have such system in place: Russia, India, Pakistan, South Korea, Japan and ...Vietnam.

Chinese talks very loud but when US came near to they artificial islands, they did nothing, Why did not use your ships to escort US off the islands? Building weapons is meaningless if you dare not use them. US still has plan to patrol near the islands at least twice every three months.
If Chinese dared to do something to push US away from those fakes island. All the countries in South East Asia will have to reconsider cooperation with US.

Speeding up our constructions and militarizing them is us doing something. Just be patient and watch the show.
Our responses will be matched by the pace of our construction and militarization. The situation will be very different in a few year's time.

Building weapons is meaningless if you dare not use them.

If having weapons is meaningless, then your country would have stopped buying them and pay for your rice instead, Us not using them is more to do with responsibility. Similar applies to our nuclear capabilities. Don't mistake us for not using them for us being afraid to use them. It is simply we do not need to, this does not mean we won't.
