Degree is degree, authentic or fake: Aslam Raisani

Going by CM 's logic and your endorsement of it I have a simple and humble advice for you . Next time when someone knocks at your door don't ask who? , just open the door because 'a guest is a guest wether he is known or unknown (including robbers) .

However I shall not ask his degree to open the door.

In short, I liked yesterday’s statement of Chief Minister Balochistan: “Degree is degree — whether it is fake or genuine!”.

The land mafia in Pakistan is producing fake land ownership papers. They are occupying land/homes/commercial property with impunity. If they come to occupy your home/land and tell you that they are the real owners then what will you do ? If somebody steals your identity by creating fake identity papers then commits fraud/crimes/terrorism. Will you go to jail for those crimes quietly ? Since you accept fake degrees then what about fake landownership or fake identity papers ?

Yes your point is Solid. But ... Actually my point is different. You can think me of like an "Anti-Education System".

I failed in M.Com, I failed three times in CSS. I failed two times in PMS.

But .... My one research article has been published by Anthropology Department, University of Hyderabad, India. My another article has been discussed with Zoologists in an American Radio Program.

I am also "degreeless"

I failed in M.Com .... But I developed my own comprehensive Accounting Software. Now I am GM/CEO of a successfully growing Accounting Software firm. I have employed MBA and ACCA ppl in my firm.

I am, therefore, Anti-Education System. I seriously think that education system (especially commerce and business education) is only a fraud with youth.

Degree makes you eligible to apply for the job. It does not even guarantee that your application shall be replied. It also does not give guarantee that you will not be expelled. It makes young people lazy. They tend to look around them who is going to create some economic activity for them to participate. They loose all confidence to create a new economic activity for themselves and for other people. In many big cities, fresh Master degree holders (M.Com, MBA etc.) are given jobs for as low salaries as Rs.7000/- to Rs.8000/-. Especially this commerce and business education is a big fraud with youth. Whole purpose of this education is to ensure regular supply of trained servants for less educated capitalists (Masters). Role of these degree holders is like spare parts of this capital system machine. New spare parts are inducted and then replaced. Good spareparts move to richer parts of this whole machine. This is the all system.

I was really disappointed during my M.Com studies. All syllabus books were written by foreign authors. Task of our so-called degree holder teachers was only to as it is convey that book material to students. Neither those teachers had their own independent mind nor could they expect that any student could have his own independent mind. In fact, education system assumes that students or teachers cannot have their own independent minds. Even if a teacher disagrees with book material, still then he has to teach the same book material.

This is GHUTTAN of our present education system. We are the intellectual slaves of other nations. we only follow others. Because all syllabus books are written by others. We cannot disagree with our masters. Nor can we try to make any improvement in that foreign knowledge base. We only can obey. Because we are intellectual slaves.

That's why I support CM Balochistan's statement.

Degree is not equivalent to the ownership papers of your land. Land is a REAL thing and you must have ownership proof.

But what education system gives you? Does it really give knowledge?

It really doesn't give knowledge. So nothing is backed by degree. degree is not the proof of knowledge and wisdom. So real or fake degree ... Should not matter.

Degrees matter. But that does not mean a person could not be more qualified in some areas. Many billionairs and inventors did not have degree. If you don't then it does not mean you don't have experience in one area. But don't demean education and degrees.

Then why degree is a requirement? And why so much noise over this paper issue.

you got this paper or not? Your paper is fake! Your paper is Ok.

CM Balochistan is right. Degree degree hota hai ... asli ho ya naqli...!!! :coffee:

I agree, todays Education system is pathetic, and its makes you lazy. But this doesn't means A guy having just a Degree and A guy having just a Fake degree are same. Experience is another thing. But degree holders have at least some knowledge in their field, and they can make a head start against other. You said you hired MBAs or ACCA, can i ask you, why don't you hire illiterate for the same task?

I blame Pakistani government for not spending more money on education and building more schools and colleges. Balochistan is feudal and these landlords did not value education since they had all they wanted. It takes 16 years of education to get a degree.

You can try all you want .These BAst$#5 wont let it happen. It meands people will get out of their hands and wont consider them "MAI ****"
I hate feudalism and Sardarism with a vengeance. However the best way to deal with them is to tax their incomes. That should bring them down to earth.

How can any country know if a person from Pakistan is really qualified for a job now?

Like any normal process, you ask the university for verification, in addition you check if the institution is a chartered univsersity registered with the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan: Home

If the candidate has a Pakistani degree, they have to get it's equivilancy from the local education authority. In the UK its: UK NARIC - Home

In the USA i think the State department does somthing similar (not 100%) is yes its still very easy to check if the degree is real or fake.

By the way there are just as many american's using fake degrees:

No degree in my opinion qualifies you for a job. Askthe Americans as in medicine at least they have the fairest system of outside recruitment that I know of.You give an exam and based on your competency you are matched to a job.You all start as if you dont know anything and then slowly progress with regular assessments by your seniors. If you are not up to satandard, they will chuck you out.
On a personal basis, I am regularly lumbered with PHDs and Mphils who cant do the job if their life depended on it, yet their are house officers who have better surgical acumen than them.

Yes Pakistan Government is to be blamed for less allocation funds to education But who he to be blamed when thousands of school buildings exist, their staff exist on papers but those are converted to Outaaqs, Deras and Cattle barns. The same has been done with Basic Health facilities. I think we need to blame ourselves as people or citizens. We should have been on roads instead we are in our air conditioned drawing rooms and offices :frown:

Last time i checked a real degree lands you jobs while a fake one lands you possible jail time.

Pakistan is now in process of creating ways to confirm the authenticity of degrees. The intervention of Supreme Court will force Higher Education Commission to have procedures in place.

Pakistan should have database where are all degree holders must be registered and conformed by colleges and universities. In the Internet age, all students graduating must have their names and photos on the University websites. Students take photos and videos of their graduating classes and post them on Facebook and Youtube. That will deter future fake degree holders since they may not be in those group photos. In Canada and US, they have yearbooks in all schools with photos of all students. We should have the same in Pakistan.
