With reference to a news item in a section of the media that Prime Minister Narendra Modi may fly in a Rafale at Aero India, the Defence Ministry on Saturday clarified that there is no plan for the former to fly in any fighter jet.

"The news item is incorrect, misconceived and is not based on facts," the Defence Ministry said in a release. It further clarified that the conduct of Aero India, a premier aero-show of Asia, has no linkage with any of the acquisition plans pursued by the Ministry of Defence.

"Aero India- 2015, to be held in Bengaluru from 18 to 22 February, will witness the participation of most of the original defence equipment manufactures from across the globe. As such, the event held biennially, provides defence manufacturers to showcase their products and innovations taking in the field," it said.

. . . . . . .
Why should Modi fly a Rafale when we're scuppering the contract? He'll fly either the Super Sukhoi, MiG-35 or even the Eurofighter!! :-)

It could be a trick from frustrated French after 13 years of promises on a pending deal  During the flight pilot may ask him to sign the deal or he is going to eject him without parachutes
