but honestly, i dont see it as any different to the han chinese thinking everyone who is not han is lower then a dog

The comparison is a bit OTT to say the least, can't comment on how the Chinese feel about others but as for Muslims, it certainly is not a common practice to demean non Muslims, there are scum bags in every society like one hears stories of racist attacks in Australia, it would be unfair to generalise the whole Australian society as being racists. I understand that the so called untouchables in India are same religion as the upper-class.

reminds me an Indian movie "Office office" --- where the person was declared dead and could not get his pension as he couldn't prove in the pension office that he is alive --- only at the last scene he was successful
